Default Help me **** with a scammer

I was on craigslist a few days ago when a deal too good to be true caught my eye. I emailed the seller to ask some questions and man his responses reek of scammer, at least to me. His name is Daniel Craig, AKA James Bond.

First response to me asking if he had made an error on the price;
Hello
Sorry for the delayed response, but I'm in Cardiff, Wales (United Kingdom) right now and I have been very busy. Anyway, thank you for your interest in buying the 2002 BMW 530i. The car is located in the United States right now and it has US papers.
?Why is the price so low??
I used to work for a US corporation, but this corporation moved in Mexico with the production process so I had to find work in another place. I realized that there is no point in taking the car with me, as it is made for USA, according to USA standards, and I would have a hard time trying to register it. The title is clean and you will have absolutely no problems to register the BMW in the States.
I will tell you a few words about the 2002 BMW :
It is in immaculate condition with 61 k miles, rust free , no scratches and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. The interior looks great. This beauty needs nothing. The title is clear, it is not a salvage one.
I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events (I have to start all over again with my life) and I have little time at my disposal. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out.
A great car ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won't make me loose time as it has already happened to me.
The price is 4,000 USD $ THIS IS MY LAST PRICE. I will not negociate the price. I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying it, to be sure that I don't waste my time with endless discussions. This way, I shall be assured of the serious intentions. So if you are interested please email me back and I will tell you what are the next steps in closing the sale.

Regards
Second response after I told him I looked forward to a test drive.
Hello again!

I am sorry that the pickup and the test drive are not available because I am not in USA right now. I am in Scotland due to some work related problems, and I will be here for at least 6 more months. But before leaving I have prearranged shipping with a third party company and Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) so my presence in US isn't necessary. The car is in a warehouse of D.A.S. in US, ready for delivery. In exchange I will offer a 5 day period of testing with no obligation to buy the vehicle. The testing period starts from the moment you receive it from the shipping company. So if you want to make this deal I will need the following details from you:
full name, shipping address, billing address

After I will have all this details I will forward them to the third party company and I will proceed the order.
They will contact you with all the details that you need to complete this deal and also to see that i am covered by them and that I am legit seller.

The vehicle will be delivered with the title, owner's manual, 2 sets of keys, service records, and of course the bill of sale notarized and signed by me. I am waiting your email with the requested details.
For those who couldn't see it
I want to string him along a bit more; so how should I answer his latest email?

I still don't get why these naggers always use that "LAST PRICE" bullshit.... it's funny that they have not learned that it's THE fastest way to know something is a scam.

I used DAS when I moved my Miata from the US to Sweden. I think they gave pretty good service and they delivered ahead of schedule. Perhaps you should forward his email to one of their representatives? I bet they will be less then happy in hearing that their name is being used on a scam.

Yea I always think its hilarious when the email says:

Hi I am interest in your item(s) for sale on craigslist.

Then they go on to ask what the lowest price you will take is. Then when you tell them, they over you 3000 more just send back the remainder. How an they not know that it is an obvious scam?

Anyways, whenever I get them I take thier email and find all the excessively spammy websites and sign them up.

Have him write something stupid on a piece of paper and pose with it for a picture as a proof of identity.

I vote "MiataTurbo Rules".

Chris
I already did, told him I looked forward to meeting him and test driving the car. That is when he replied saying he is out of the country on business for months and the car is with DAS.

Although I have decided to ask him if he happens to know what warehouse DAS is storing the car. If it is in Ga it would be their Morrow location which is 5 minutes from where I work. After that I'll send him a scam email back

I figure I'll use this as a template for my scam response.
