great deal on a new ZR-1
Brand new zr-1 vette, 7 weeks old, owner had it gutted and caged, and had wrap put on it, its a copy cat compuware car, but its genuine zr-1, tracked prepped. He was leading the thunder nasa race, racing in st-1, and was leading a couple stock car su cars and ran out of talent, did not lift when he got 2 tires in the grass and when he came back on track it snap over steered bouncing off 2 walls, was first time on track with this car. This was at the nasa races at watkins glen this weekend, all classes were running, american iron,su,etc http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...91004-1546.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...91004-1547.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...91004-1550.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...91004-1551.jpg |

oh, and Jeff...The Guid(o) is one of my favorite track characters of all time.
For those who weren't there, we had the pleasure of running into a guy with really thin, greasy hair who'd sit in his car on the grid, rev the motor at people who walked by, take the helmet off and comb his hair multiple times, no rev-match on downshifts and blow clutch-smoke, run off the track, and ignore black flags. It was very entertaining. |
Ouch, I saw that car at Watkins Glen this weekend and heard he ate the wall. I had my own fun on that track Saturday.

Giving props where props are due, am I the only one who is impressed that the windshield isn't even fractured, and it appears that the doors still line up at the back?
|
Front clip,uhh.. Positive its totaled by insu standards, but not covered. If hes got the money to risk it, he has to have the $$ to fix it.
No run off room at the Glen.. sucks |

I keep a special place in my heart for the guy who can buy a $120k car, get it track prepped, and get a wrap effectively making it a toy car. This is what I built the miata for.
(Hence my joy at leaving a newly minted 911 owner behind; not once, not twice but three times on FM-337...) - L |
Why why
What a fucking tard :loser:  |

Yeah, he had a million signs that he was pushing too hard. He went off past the curb on that one corner almost every lap. Was his car that fast? I'm amazed the guy who's car we're watching from couldn't get around him.

Paul Harvey said it best...
More money and ego than desire to learn or the humility to listen when told "you are doing it wrong." |

On the subject of ZR-1s, does anybody know if they're running coilovers or transverse leaves? I ask because, while I fully understand and appreciate the subtle beauty and various advantages, as well as the subtle genius and "bad idea brilliantly executed" on par with the R/R layout of a 911, of the concept, I also know that the C6R (and possibly the C5R?) runs coilovers rather than the traditional Corvette monospring suspension. Anyway, I'd be interested, sometime, in seeing how a monospring and coilovers compare, for purely academic purposes. Of course this would require equally set up cars with the exception of the coilover/monospring layout, which would never happen, but it's fun to think about...

Yeah, the Vin Diesel guy. Not that it's going to be cheap to fix, but he was running his track prepped M3 there on Saturday, and his wife was on track with her 350Z convertible as well. Were you at the track?
