One reason to love Top Gear magazine
My wonderful wife bought me a subscription to Top Gear's magazine for Christmas. It reads just like the show sounds. Funny, flip and full of good information. Very different from any of the big US rags.
Here is the ad on the back cover of the current issue.
I doubt you'll see C&D, R&T or MT running this one any time soon!

All different content. The mag is huge. Lots of articles and information. Very different from the US car mags. They don't have full pages of stats when they test a car. Nothing like this...
It is much more editorial and less raw stats and facts. It's funny, irreverent and you get to see how limited the cars available to us vs. Europe really is.

This is an aspect of the American culture I never did understand, not even after living in NC for 2 years: Why is it so accepted with violence, but so unaccepted with a bit of naked skin? Why is it considered more dangerous for kids and people in general to see a bit of what people look like under their clothes, then to watch people hammer and beat each other to death? Wrestling is OK, but a flash of well shaped *** isn’t. Why? What’s the harm?
Anyway! Top Gear Rocks!!
Edit: Sorry, I read this again and realised that I unintentionally sounded like an *** towards you guys. I don’t mean to pick on anybody or to critic. This just had me genuinely puzzle during my stay in the US.

You are speaking truth, not being an *** at all. The first white people to settle in what would become the USA were puritans. That overprotective, overzealous, we know what's right for all attitude has continued in the USA since then. Why should someone with a 1/2 ounce of marijuana be punished as harshly as someone who seriously injured another while driving drunk? Puritans still rule our lives. Seriously, why else would prostitution be illegal.
Oh yeah. Forgot to add. She's likely too thick for some of the young guys around here, but that's a nice round pooper on her.
