Default New pet!

Caught this guy near my apartment earlier this week. It's an alligator lizard. Seems like it's about half a year old and it should grow to anywhere from 14" to 18".

Very cool, I just found a spider that lives outside my apartment thats about an inch in diameter. I've fondled with the idea of capturing it and possibly training it to slay my enemies.

I used to get so excited when I found those when I was a kid. I miss CA.

Wirelessly posted

Looks too slender to be a skink in my opinion. Hope it works out well for you and the lizard. Sometimes wild lizards don't do well when captured and cared for.

Nah, it's an alligator lizard. Confirmed it with a lizard expert at Petco It's doing fine so far - still getting used to being held but it's not as paranoid as it was for first few days. My cat just discovered it yesterday and tried to grab it but I stopped her right in time

Just the other day I caught a similar looking salamander (I assumed) with a blue tail. Then I let the little guy go.

Huh. When I was a kid back in Florida, we used to gather those little ******* up from the playground during recess and then stick 'em in the girls desks before they got back to class.

Never occurred to me to keep one as a pet.

You're weird.

I've caught a few 5-lined skinks at work lately. Swift little *******. That is def. not a skink...though it's close in looks.

Catch a broad-headed skink, an adult male, and let it bite you... lol...that's a strong ************...
