You made a reproduction? Out of a Delorean?

I like the looks and I like the interior. I looked at one about 10years ago at a vintage car salon in Clearwater. That one had 10k miles on it, and it had a Volvo engine in it. They were asking 9800 for it back then.

Real quick.

The thought is tempting...
Cadillac Northstar V8 is a popular swap in these cars.

Well, I was in college in the mid to late 80's so I guess I didn't miss it, unlike some here who were crapping in diapers then.

Lol I did lots and lots of diaper crapping in the 80's =P

I grew up with Back to the Future and still love it. These cars will always be awesome to me. Now I know that I can own one someday

There has never been anything about the Delorean that did anything for me. It's ugly, slow and did I mention ugly. Also too expensive.

And Back to the Future sucks. I can't stand that **** movie.

Is that setup above going to be RF or something? I see the factory trans going up front...

What kind of transmission is that mated to the 2JZ? I don't see an adapter plate, yet I can't fathom what application Toyota would have for a 2WD longitudinal transaxle.

Registered for that linked forum, but haven't been approved yet.

Keep us informed on how they did that too, i find it intresting... Looking closely at the trans picture , its quite shiny around the bell housing. I bet they welded bell housings together....

Ok, I'm registered, approved, and I made a newbie intro post, and when I follow the link I still get:

Huh. Seems now that I've been given Rep for my stellar intro post I can access the linked page.

It does appear that he's taken the stock Delorean transmission and welded a new bellhousing to it. I'm guessing on that part based on jedduh01's observation (posted for more info) but he states that "I made the adapter, flywheel and clutch. I also had to fabricate the mainshaft and clutch fork."

Killer killer intro thread Joe.

Actually, I think intro posts may even be a trifle more awkward than that...

But long story short, recently arrived back in FL, and got pointed over here by a couple of the loonies at miataturbo.net where I'm one of the mods. Something about a fellow stuffing a 2JZ into a poor little Delorean? Sounded like the sort of place I needed to check out.
