Dogfight Question
I watched a video of a dogfight during the Yom Kipur war in which a single Israeli pilot took on 10 Egyptian MIGs. The MIGs came in pairs, but once a pair was finished with a run m, they never came back for a second run.
There was only a total of 5 encounters.
Why, after an unsuccessful run, didn't a pair of MIGs re-engage?

I'm assuming those were MIG-21s. They have almost no fuel capacity. Did some training with them enroute to the Red Sea for DS, and they usually had enough gas for a single engagement and didn't do A2A refueling. Basically, point-defense fighters.
They are effective at point-defense. Friend of mine was killed by a MIG-25 when we were going against H2 and H3 airfields on the first night of the war.
