The trick i use is left click on the tabs on the bottom of the screen, that stops it from multiplying, then click the x on the IE tab. You'll get the little pop-up, click the x in the corner....you'll have to do it like 50 times.. but at least you won't have multiple tabs.

I forced my browser to quit, turned off my wireless networking, re-opened my browser (choosing 'restore session'), found the tab, killed it, then turned wireless networking back on.

I did it too! I just closed my session, restore it, bookmark my 12 good pages and closed everything. Not that bad, but makes you angry when it's 4AM, you just arrived from work and you're about to go to sleep! :mad:
