Hard top shipping costs
Has anyone ever tried to ship one?
Any idea how much it would cost to ship one from Atlanta to southern PA? |
Assuming 700 miles each way, that's 1,400 miles total. Figure 30 MPG in that 2000 of yours (taking it nice & easy) for 47 gallons up and back. At $3.80 / gal, call it $179 in fuel, maybe $50 for a hotel room for the night, and probably $20 in meals. So that's $249 in total.
Honestly, attached securely to a Miata is about the only way I'd ship a hardtop. They're surprisingly flimsy when off the car, and don't really like to sit flat. |
Meet 1/2 way and thats reasonable

I shipped a complete rear diff from my Jeep for $110 with Pilot Air Freight, weighed like 210lbs strapped to a pallet. So you should be able to get a decent price with them http://www.pilotdelivers.com/
