Head phones under a helmet?

Anybody found a good solution to headphones under a bike helmet? I love my iPhone buds because I can change volume/songs but they never really sit right in my ears after I put my helmet on and they tend to fall out when I'm riding. I thought about the ones that go over the back of your ears but don't know if they'd be uncomfortable in a helmet. Anybody got a better solution?

I removed the foam from the ears of my helmet took a good set of standard headphones and double sided taped them to the helmet and re-installed the foam routing the wires out one side so it could easily be tucked away in my shirt. Seems to work pretty good. All my buddies seem to use ear buds but I am not a big fan of the way they feel with the helmet.

get teh ear buds with the mold-able cones at the end that form to your inner ear.

This. I don't have any experience with them in a helmet, but they are the best-fitting, best-sounding, most soundproof earbuds you can get.

These are what I'm talking about. It doesn't show it, but there are foam-type earpieces that come with them. I'm sure you can get the same kind for less money.

You might possibly be able to retrofit the earpieces onto your iPod earbuds. http://www.google.com/products/catal...ved=0CCkQ8wI#p

Put some of those foam covers over your ear buds and they will stay in place. I mountain bike with them all the time and they never fall out.

Bluetooth helmet? It works for my dad.

Do you have space in the helmet you have to install earbuds like sean suggests?

In for answer, I don't like riding with both buds in, I can't hear any ambient noise

I had a set just like this for when I used to ride trails. They're comfortable and stayed in during my occasional off.

I'll probabbly swing by Wally world and see if I can find some squishy ones. I would try and retrofit the iPhone buds but unfortunately there awal at the moment lol.

I might have room I'd have to check but don't really feel like tearing my helmet apart and definatly don't want to start tearing padding out, if I lay it down I don't want earbuds permenatly attached to my ears lol.

There used to be headphones available that were specifically designed to work in a helmet. I can't recall just where I saw them but a good search should turn something up (my searching skills suck and I'm on a 54mbps connection right now). Try looking at motorcycle supply stores to start, if you can find one that specializes in touring that might be best.

i wore something like this under my helmet when I ride, but I only wear it in one ear. They will fall out when you take the helmet off, but otherwise I never had a problem with them. Even when I wore a buddy's helmet that was extra tight.

I've used these for years in my race helmet. Cheap and work well.

Ok I took your guys advice on the squishy buds and I picked some of these up today. They actually work amazing and sound better than the iPhone ones, there's actually some bass. Also they stay put pretty good, they don't even fall out when I take my lid off.

I did this shit too with my snowboard helmet.

Used these headphones:

$4 and they sound pretty damn decent when smooshed up against your ears. Could also sew them in or tie em in, whatever.
