2006 BMW M5. Comfortable in traffic, awesome fuel economy to boot.
I'll give you a terriffic deal on mine :) |
04 BMW 330ci 330 Coupe
Something like that. Easy to drive, comfy as hell, reliable, good mpg, looks good and feels torquey and fun to drive. Really good cruiser. |
Boring? Check.
Automatic? Check. Under $20k? Check. "Have you driven a Ford lately?" http://image.hotrod.com/f/8929747/11..._side_view.jpg |
OK I bought this car:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/emailT...paId=330058012 '04 Subie Forester XT automatic 100K miles $11,000 out the door AKA $10,100 before MD tax and tags. 100K miles but single owner, engine and tranny felt good, decent inside and out, full service history. Huzzah! |
Good choice!

Good job, you're now a lesbian.

Enjoy your subbie. BTW Modded foresters are great :). Plans are to keep it emissions compliant- obd2, idle sniff. Install a 3" quiet exhaust, cobb accessport, lower it cheaply, tint the fucker, install some cop push bars :) http://www.carbuyersnotebook.com/wp-...er_cop_car.jpg |
When I'm not in the miata. I'm tearing up the mean streets of Huntsville in a Toyota echo. That's right, the chariot of fire. Big pimpin right here:
http://www.canberraonline.com.au/advertise/echo.jpg This is not mine. This is a clean representation of mine. There is only one chariot of fire! :skid: |
Annapolis Suby is good people. You can buy an Accessport from them if you don't go used, and they're mod friendly. They also give the best deals on OEM parts and are a sponsor over at NASIOC.
Good choice aside from it being black. MD doesn't idle sniff OBDII cars. At least not at the Glen Burnie/Ordnance Rd station. Plug in and go. I've never even had them look for a cat. Pick up a used STI suspension and your best bet for a quiet exhaust is the Cobb, but I haven't been in the FXT game in a while. Frank |
Good choice, I'd love to get a nice FXT. I know you don't want to mod the car much, but all of the sti hardware (turbo, up-pipe, intercooler, ecu, etc.) are all OEM direct bolt-on upgrades. There's a good forester owners forum too (can't remember the web address).
Congrats, and enjoy. |

I believe it is. I've done many cars in the last 2 years. All OBD2, no sniffing.
|
A day one update--- well the car works very nicely at what I bought it for- driving in shitty traffic on shitty roads. Very nice car and very powerful. Turbos FTW!

What's the mt.net forester/suabaru equivalent?
|
Edit: never mind... teach me to read to the end of the thread first. Enjoy the Subie...

If it were me, I'd get like a 98 Toyota Tercel. They are a little ugly, but they are dirt cheap, cheap to fix (if you ever have to), dead reliable, cheap to insure. They get 30mpg and will drive for 300k with oil changes.
