And those responsible should be punished by the law and fired. If the company had a policy of covering up things like this, then that is already illegal. People should go to prison for a long time. That is why there are laws.

So if the contract goes to Burger King next year and they hire a bunch of contractors to feed the troops and drive the supplies around, what happens if the King sneaks into the women's barracks and hog ties a girl and rapes her?(creepy bastard) Does he walk because it's a foreign country with no enforcement of law? No. He goes to prison. And anyone complicit in the act or covering it up goes to prison. Does Cindy Burgerflipper in downtown Kansas City lose her job because of what the King did? I sure hope not. Just because she happens to work for the same company doesn't make her evil or culpable.

Corporations are not good or evil any more than a table and chairs are good or evil. Any corporation is made up of people. Good ones and bad ones. If people do wrong at the top or the bottom they should be punished. No doubt. If it is a company policy or directive to do illegal things, then there are already laws that govern that as you pointed out. Other than for political grandstanding, why then would this law be of any use?

Corporate civil suits are always about money. That is their nature. Criminal activity is about sending the guilty to prison. That is about justice. Talking about justice AND money makes me think of something other than justice. Prison for all involved = justice.

Democrats skip out on Countrywide vote

Faced with a promised vote to subpoena documents on Countrywide Financial's "Friends of Angelo" program, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee fled a scheduled 2 p.m. markup today.

Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the Ranking Republican on the Oversight Committee, had promised to call for a vote at today's markup on whether to subpoena documents involved in the program that gave sweetheart mortgages to at least four Democratic government officials, including two senators. According to the Wall Street Journal, the program might have also benefitted the chairman of House Oversight, Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y.

Even if it had been ruled out of Order, Issa's motion would have received a vote.

The committee's Democrats simply failed to appear. Republican staffers say they caught them on tape leaving by a back door at 2:35.



Democrats are morally/ethically superior.

Shameful.

It is important to understand who these people are and how they work.

If I own a large corperation, and five guys in this company who I never meet decided to butt fuck some chick I never meet, for some reason that has nothing to do with my company or the business it conducts...should I have to pay for that? I'd opine no.
