Miata Turbo Forum - Boost cars, acquire cats.

Hey, I haven't been around in a while. I don't think I've posted since last summer. :sadwavey:

Great time this summer with the Miata. Now, coming into the 'work season' I felt inspired to come over here and say hello.

Things I have found out about my Miata over the past 6 months or so:

1. I had to pull the motor last winter after diagnosing an oil leak. The pump itself was leaking around the gastket to the block. FYI: Do NOT use 3rd party gaskets for the oil pump. A $4 Mazda cork gasket from finishline was all I needed to stop the leak.

2. Did a good ammount of Link tuning this summer. A WBO2 is still not on the car, so shame on me. :nono: I have a bit of stumble when I get into the 600 and 700 ranges. I don't know if it is fuel or coil packs. Much more tuning is in store for next summer.

3. I have some weird PCV issue that spits some oil at startup. At worst, the turbo needs to be rebuilt. I'll be asking about this when I find out more.

4. Miata's will lose the fight when they are backed into by GMC Jimmys. I was parked in the street and my neighbor's girlfriend hit my baby at about 10mph. ~$3000 in damages. Sucks to be her. It's all taken care of now.
