Not sure where it happened since I haven't driven the Miata more than a few days in the past few weeks, but noticed today that my Miata has a tire scrape mark on the front fender, which starts midway up the bumper and then goes up onto the top of the wheel well...without rubbing the fender lip at all. It's very odd, almost like it had to be a lifted truck or something. At least the idiot that did it just brushed me and didn't run the entire fender over as you would normally see. Idiots I tell you!

No Handi permit..but using the spot. Sure it was a Sunday, but handi spots aren't a "everyday except holidays and weekends" kinda thing. ********.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt most of the time. Like that maroon Equinox in Dopple's last post. Maybe that was an adult child, driving their personal vehicle, transporting an elderly parent who has mobility issues. They forgot to grab grandma's handicap tag but needed to park close to their destination.

Or some of the simple "over the line" jobs in the middle of a row: I like to assume they were forced to do that because the last guy was over the line and as soon as they leave, normalcy will return.

But some of these parking jobs... Yeah, they are just a-holes.

Edit- perhaps my observations are hard to explain. I'll just leave it at...parked in spot at an office complex on a Sunday with no permit displayed for the spot.

There are plenty of disabled people that need to work out despite having injuries that restrict their mobility. I personally have leg injuries which regularly cause me to trip while walking. Leg braces help and essentially prevent me from running and walking normally, but I can rip it up on a bike or a swimming pool once, or jam in a clutch on a manual transmission.

I'd say the most abusive handicappers usually come in the form of old folks that get driven somewhere to get great parking, but they never get out of the car, which is illegal.

Edit- I don't understand how that relates to the picture? Point of the picture taken was because person was parked in the handicap spot and not displaying any sign of needing to park there. I would not dare post a picture of someone in such a space if it was clear they were permitted to park there

I wasn't offended at all. I think I got your point before the edit: it takes an ******* to park in a handicap spot when there's a normal spot right nearby. I'd say in my case the law itself is ridiculous. The way the law is written, it is illegal for to park in a handicap spot without the assisting device. In reality, many people function perfectly fine with the assisting device, to the point most people would question why they have a handicap permit. When they don't have an assisting device with them, when mobility is most difficult, it is technically illegal to use the handicap spot. I believe this is part of the reason some states have begun issuing disability identification cards. The ADA (iirc) prohibits a law officer from directly questioning the disability. They can only question whether the state issued disability placard or plate matches the person using it. So if a person is questioned, they can provide a disability card, authorized by a doctor, rather than try to justify their disability to anyone who questions it...I guess similar to a medical id for medications?

That makes sense. I completely understand. Most days I'd probably look pretty normal walking around, while on others I have a pretty bad limp. I suffered a severed Achilles tendon and because of a multitude of bad information when dealing with the company where it happened and poor communication from the workers comp. company, surgery was delayed almost six weeks when it should have been done within one. This delay really impacted the tendon, muscles and how the surgery was done, and now the range of motion has been greatly impacted...as well as the pain that comes and goes. I wouldn't need to always use handi space, but there are a number of days it would help.when I had my temp placard, I got comments and looks all of the time...until I pulle out the crutches from the trunk lol.

Whoah, whoah, whoah!

The Pontiac Vibe is essentially the most practical and logical vehicle choice for the vast majority of Americans. You get Toyota reliability at Pontiac prices, the utility of a small wagon with good fuel economy and reasonable size. I would expect it to be driven by a fastidious accountant or non-automotive enthusiast engineer.

While getting a steak with Dad on Father's Day, I saw this braindead moron parked all up in two spots, so I stuffed my beater truck off in there. There's about 8" between his door and my mirror. I wish he would ding my doors.

You also get the same motor and transaxle as my Lotus Elise, albeit in the front of the car vs mid, which Lotus sources from Toyota. Different manifolds, injectors and engine management, but same VVT 1.8 which is happy to turn 8k RPMs all day long.

The Vibe, however, is a hideous beast, which like it's retard brother the Aztek, stands in homage to how Profoundly Wrong some of the calls that come out of Detroit can be. Such a sweet motor, wrapped in a package meant for people who don't give a rats *** about what's under the hood and will never hear it's sweet 7-8k banshee wail.
