Holy Crap

So I showed my friend the inline 6 miata posted earlier cuz he's a Supra guy and he responds with videos and pics of his car.

I just about shit myself when he said he overboosted to 64psi and made 1978whp. He had to put on a second 44mm wastegate to keep up with the 91mm turbo.

8.83@160, but that was on the older 88mm turbo. He blew the motor first time out with the 91mm. Figures it was fatigue from the 64psi run.

yes... it spun the tires all the way down the track, that doenst mean its running like crap, quite the opposite

curly 11-29-2009 11:37 PM

Lame all that work lining up for nothing. I mean crap, I flip a lot of switches to start my car, but not a million like he does after the burn out. What do you suppose the button is he's pumping?

TrickerZ 11-29-2009 11:39 PM

I'm assuming he meant when the motor went boom. Such things happen when you overboost to 64psi.

Should of been able to handle 65 psi.

TimR 11-29-2009 11:43 PM

supras are some of the most rediculous cars in a straight line... all those switches are to get permission to launch his car with nasa.

TrickerZ 11-29-2009 11:44 PM

that button is the nitrous purge

Nitrous purge!

kotomile 11-29-2009 11:59 PM

Is it the nitrous purge?

Supras are great for 100mph roll races against Suzuki Hayabusas

His turbo alone likely cost more than your whole car!

I wonder what you pump for nitrous purge.

SKMetalworks 11-30-2009 01:22 AM

If it was my car i would use more efficient pump that you only have to press it once. Not bang on it.

What's up with all of the spectators wearing white jumpsuits?

That Supra drag car sounds amazing when it spools. Last time I went to the drag strip someone had a 7 second turbo car there. Low 7s just tuning it, not competing. Purpose built, full fiberglass body, huge slicks, etc. It sounded like sex on wheels when it launched.

TrickerZ 11-30-2009 10:32 AM

My friend is aiming for the record for 10.5 tires. I think he said it's 7.8s@189mph. He's saying his should do 7.7@195mph. If he hadn't overboosted and fatigued the motor, that last run with the 91mm turbo should have been close. His 8.8s was on the old 88mm turbonetics that blew up at 45psi.

hustler 11-30-2009 11:07 AM

slow and fail.

I think their in like saudi arabia or something

ZX-Tex 11-30-2009 11:48 AM

It is a long way from an 8.8 to a 7.7.

spoolin2bars 11-30-2009 04:33 PM

^^^ sure is. my buddy has 2 sick ass supra's. he built up an mk3 supra, perfect body/paint. cage, built motor, veilside intake/tbody, 1600cc injectors, he had an 88mm turbo also, made 1,056whp and best run to date was 8.76 @ 162mph iirc. he found a 4th gen. with a 800whp setup already in it, caged also, same tein flex suspension as his mk3. so he took the 800whp motor and put it in his mk3 for his daughter. now he's swapping his setup into the mk4 supra except he's going with a 101mm turbo now. justin nenni will be tuning it as soon as he's done. (one of the top tuner's that specializes in supra's in the world) can't wait to get a ride in that beast! good luck to your friend, that flt. blk paint looks sinister!

that 8.8 run was at 30psi and he didn't get a good start. I have no idea if he can break the record as I'm not too sure of his skills or any of that, but with the new turbo he should be much faster at 45psi. He still needs to dial in a bunch of stuff for traction and whatnot. That was his first test run with the 91mm when he blew it up.

spoolin2bars - your friend probably knows mine, his name's Orian. Unfortunately I won't get a ride in his since it only has 1 seat. His power was around the same with the 88mm at around 1100whp. Your friend going after the same record or using bigger tires?

woops sorry a little late on the answer but in for awesome supra.

NA6C-Guy 12-08-2009 08:34 AM

...looks like another dyno queen to me... :loser:

gospeed81 12-08-2009 08:49 AM

Wow...there's something I've ever seen: A 1000+whp Supra that can't go any faster without breaking parts.

Not that I'd kick it out of the garage or anything.

spoolin2bars 12-08-2009 01:23 PM

he was originally building it for a certain class. that org. is now gone. i think he just wants to go fast as possible now! regardless of class. but yeah he was trying to go for the radial tire record at one point.
