Holy textbook prices...
Just spent ~$400 for my books this semester. Shits ridiculous
I guess im gonna have to wait a while to buy an MS now :hs: |
Yeah Textbook prices are such a scam by the colleges, even the community colleges.
Amazon.com is great for textbook selling/buying though. Unless your school is the only one to use a certain "special edition" math books, retards. Even a ten year old college textbook should have the same info as a new one. Chris |
Yup. My scholarship's text book allowance would usually cover only 1 class' worth of books.
|
I scored my $200 math book online last week for $40 on Amazon. STILL spent $350 this quarter on books, and that's only for 2 classes :(:(:(
|
Yea i found my math book online for like half of what the school wants. Everything else is about the same as anywhere online. Im only going to comm. college for now and I know its a scam when i need a book titled "Sociology - A Brief Introduction, Naugatuck Valley Community College Edition" give me a fucking break.

half.com is where its at. I've never spent more than $300 on 16credits worth of books. This includes all my $140 engineering books.
|
International edition textbooks on ebay. 20-40$ for a 150$ book.
Just have a different cover then all of the regular editions. |
my wife's books and lecture DVDs cost ~600 this semester. one more reason I think there needs to be some kind of educational expense regulatory comity.
|
2 years out of school and my credit cards are still kickin my ass. thank you tuition and textbooks.. and supplies and alcohol and weed...
haha! |
rent the ones you don't give a crap about. that way you are guaranteed the savings right off the bat and aren't relying on the bookstore to buy back the book at end of the semester, which often doesn't happen due to new releases, obsolesence, etc.
i once spent over $700 for 12 hours worth of books. |
Textbooks are included in my tuition, we just pick them all up at the library and bring them back at the end of the semester. We get a laptop every other year, too.
|
I hate you sam.

wtf school is that?
sounds like an overpriced private school, if thats the case id take my normal tuition and text book prices anyday.. |
UW-Stout
Half the price of our state's comparable private engineering school with basically the same classes. |
bookfinder4u.com is what I use for text books. its searches 130 sites including amazon and half.com. Makes it easy to find the cheapest prices.
|
yea i remember how overpriced the books were for my classes too. being a pharmacology/toxicology major sucked cause all the science books were nice and expensive... i only bought books the first 2 years though. the other 2 i didnt even bother since i never read them nor did i need to to pass the classes. 2 years out and i miss college.. i wanna go back.
