I was thinking about wiring my launch control into my highbeam switch, cause a $2 button from radio shack is too much effort.

i know right every one knows high beams are so jdm + it will help you flash to pass. but when you flash off it will slow down so you flash first then speed up and pass so confusing

I have a toggle switch in the center console. The toggle interrupts the actual clutch pedal switch before it can hit the ecu. LC is always active, however if the toggle is flipped off, the LC activation pin is never grounded so it never engages. If the switch is on, LC is activated by the clutch switch when the clutch is depressed. This way flat shift works, as well as the feature that allows you set launch RPM (forget what it is called).

you lost me there. cant you have the launch control initiated by the speedo signal, and still toggled btw how is it working for you with the 4.1 and when is the race?

I bet his next mod was gonna be NOSSSSS hooked up to the e-brake.

miatamania 07-02-2007 05:36 PM

No. The LC is armed with either the clutch pedal (so it arms every time you hit the clutch--which is annoying as fuck) or with a switch that goes to ground. All I did was intercept the clutch switch signal to the ecu's LC input pin. Left LC turned on is software. However, the ecu doesn't get clutch signal at the pin unless the switch is turned on. That way both variable launch rpm (LC holds the RPM the motor is at as I hit the clutch pedal) and flat shift (keep your foot all the way to the floor between shifts).

Haven't tried a real launch yet since someone else needs my 6" rear.

still running the 4.30:1
I was hoping to find a 3.90 r&p before installing the rear. Doesn't seem like it's happening so the 4.10 rear is going in sometime in the next week or three. Have a few other projects that have priority.

That's funny. On my hondas, I've always set up a speed sensitive launch control . Listen to the beginning of the video.

Car is an 88 hatch with 15 million bazillion miles. Stock motor, stock 4 speed transmission and mismatch rear trailing arms lol. Total cost for engine management was $9 in parts, plus $85 for the chip burner.

Total cost (after selling off aftermarket parts) + turbocharging the car ended up being about $600-$700 (including the car)

Goddamn that's funny.
