BTW does anyone know how that BOV is supposed to mount?

lazzer408 08-06-2007 03:21 AM

On a TurboXS fitting.

I have a weld on somewhere around here. I'll have to look but $10 if you want it.

If your going the DIY route the valve will fit the OD of a 1" copper pipe fitting. Use a 2x1x2 copper T and it works.

kotomile 08-06-2007 03:31 AM

Is it aluminum? I'm thinking I'll mount the BOV to the pass side endtank to help keep it clean underhood, and for ease of install.

Braineack 08-06-2007 08:43 AM

AEM = easiest thing I've ever installed ever.

kotomile 08-11-2007 08:16 PM

^ speaking of AEM, I just ordered a Truboost EBC from WOT. That ought to be a pretty easy install.

Only thing I'm worried about is the MS install. I don't want to mess anything expensive up...

hustler 08-11-2007 08:35 PM

beefy...lol.

What's up with all the vw techs and turbo miatas?

I almost bought colorado extreme like that too.

Ben 08-11-2007 08:43 PM

:scratches head:
MS has built in EBC

kotomile 08-11-2007 08:52 PM

I thought it was something you had to add? Wouldn't you have to add the solenoid?

hustler - my brother in law is the VW tech, and I know WOT is a VW guy too. Any others?

Ben 08-11-2007 08:53 PM

yeah you add the solenoid, which also means 2 wires. The solenoid is $17.

kotomile 08-11-2007 08:55 PM

eh well. I needed a gauge too, haha.

that's my justification and I'm sticking to it.

Ben 08-11-2007 09:01 PM

ok, well we can probably just use the ms to control boost with the aem solenoid. then you use the aem for its digital gauge, which approximately matches the aem wideband. it'll work. :bigtu:

kotomile 08-11-2007 10:51 PM

I was thinking, if you were to come to Augusta and walk me through the MS install and help install said solenoid, I could take out the Truboost and put it in the wife's car :)

Flippy02 08-12-2007 01:49 AM

Good luck with the install, and i'm glad my BOV found a good home

timk 08-12-2007 07:03 AM

My cats like AEM stuff too:

why the hell arent there people around where i live willing to come over and help out with installs? (charlottesville, VA)

kotomile 08-12-2007 07:58 PM

Well, him coming to Augusta to help may be wishful thinking on my part, as it's about a 2 hour drive for him and I don't know what he'd get out of it other than the satisfaction of helping a fellow Miataphile.

He may not need to if I say "screw it" and buy a PNP...

which is what im doing b/c of the fact that there arent any miata guys around me to help out...and b/c of the fact that the g/f is only agreeing to the fact that im spending more money on the car is b/c i can still use A/C since i made the mistake of mentioning the loss of a/c with megasquirt.
