I think the 6 point joins the bottom of the buckle like normal, but instead of one thick strap down the middle, it is 2 thinner straps that run to the outside of the seat, making a V when you look at your crotch

I bolted my old 5 point right below the front of the seat, instead of the hole in the seat where it was intended. Gives me just enough room.

I use my 6pt only for autocross. I use it with the stock seat (GASP!). The sub belt I sit on and is routed between the seat bottom and back to a set of eye-bolts mounted on the floor. If I don't route the sub belt correctly, ouch. But once in place with everything tight there is no movement and no problem. Unless of course I leave my helmet on the floor of the passenger side after tightening everything up.

Could be even worse... You don't have a sub strap and get into a bad front end collision, slide down under the belts, and be severely injured from the accident.

It's called safety. For those of us who actually drive our cars, it makes perfect sense to have one.

give that a try when you have arm restraints on as well. And my helmet was only a foot from me LOL.

If you're not on the track, then the only harness use is for discipline. My safety word is "pork-chop sandwiches!!!"

I use the fly out the top in case of accident logic. Seatbelts are for scaredy cats.

i run a 4pt harness, my beer belly is now large enough that submarining shouldn't be possible:)

I can not count how many times I have been sitting in the car, ready to go out and: "Damn...crap... Honey?! Can you close the door for me?!"

Point of clarification. And introduction. I am the owner of said 'nether-region' busting harness. :-) And recent addition to the forums, though have been over on miata.net for a while.

The harness is in fact a 6 pt. The anti-subs form a V and are bolted at the rear bolts for the seat rail. For me, not sitting on thick pillows the anti-subs fit rather nicely and though I just have about 3 hours seat time in it tuning the car with Stephanie, I don't see any issue with the anti-subs. Am still working on adjusting the straps and the lap belts were hitting me funny during shifts as my left foot worked the clutch.

Anyway, the seat is incredibly supportive and will be wonderful on the track. But make no mistake, the damn thing will be out very quickly when I get home from the track. Though sitting in the stock seat after the race seat will be like sitting on a park bench.

The seat is an Ultrashield Pro Road Race, and the 6 pt is from them as well. Will have pics when I take baby home at some point if anyone is interested.

Talked to Stephanie about the car last night at the local Miata meet-up and she is very happy with the car now. And she admitted to having a bit of fun with it. Though seeing her in the seat without the thick pillows is quite comical.

Yeah, bob told me it was a 6 point harness last night. You can't trust me when talking about race harnesses. :) Sucker still hurts though. The center strap needs to be at least an inch less wide. Of coarse, If I was sitting in the seat like I was supposed to, it might help. But if I did that, I only have a birds eye view of the cruise control button on the steering wheel. Forget seeing the road, it would not be possible. The seat is a nice one. If I wasn't, like, a foot too short to sit in it, it might be ok.

I DD with my Willans 6-points...no problems for me..and with stock 10AE seats. I think it's the way I have to slightly slouch in the seat that keeps the flagellum factories from getting crunched up. When on the track, I do cinch them down a bit more then usual...not saying that it's loose on the street...if I leave the door open all the way and buckle in, I can't close the door :(

The worst is when you buckle in before you take the keys out of your pocket.
