How Long After Joining MT.net Until Ordering MS.
Seems like a lot of people on the forum have purchased MegaSquirt. When I first joined MT.net, I had was [Flamesuit=] planning on buying a Powercard Pro[/Flamesuit]. Five months after joining, my 99 is running on MegaSquirt II. How long after joining MT.net until you ordered your MegaSquirt?

Most of us OG's where scared and waited until it got easy to jump in you newbs are lucky it is a good time to be into miatas.
When I did mine maybe 3 people had it on the forums. A year later and like 20-30 (more?) have it probably.
I made scott's, albiet he had to do some slight mods to get it working 100%. If it hadn't been for that who knows where it would be. Maybe no MS write ups in the archives....
I waited for PNP
i did mine as beta tester after kingof1337 and nathan m-ed from m.net figured it out.
Not yet, but it will be one of the first purchases after my motor finds it final resting place in my Seven chassis.
it was about a year for me.
while i joined back in like june of 2006 i was not at all active till i finally went turbo around July 2007. Took me until August when the PNP was available to rip out the EMB and bandaids. So my final answer is 1 month. Never looked back.

no doubt. |
driving a car with band-aids was enough reason for me to squirt
still saving up for mspnp, get it tuned and sorted before I turbo it
i jumped on the pnp as soon as it came out, couldn't wait to get rid of emb
Took me 7 months.
I think I had a PNP lined up even before joining.
a month, but i knew i wanted it before i joined...
You didn't put an already owned it option in there, because I had one.. just no idea how to use it. Well, I still don't have any idea how to use it.. lol.
Edit: I voted 5 months because thats how long it took me from time of joining to get my engine back in the car, then finish megasquirt and actually run the car with it. |
well in that case we need an option for still waiting, lol
i went hydra.
A year, but it still isn't in the car. I'm planning on installing it before spring.
Sheit, I'm at a year plus here, and still NA.
..but I had MSnS-E running EBC in 2004. |
first i was going to get the AEM, but this was alot cheaper and pretty much did the same thing, and alot of people have them with good reviews.
i bought mine a month after i joined but it took me close to half a year to finally get to installing it.
I joined this site mainly to learn more about the MS(PNP). I fully intend to put one on the '94 to replace the AFPR. When I purchase will depend on what type of A/F ratios I am getting with the AFPR. If they are good, I will wait and focus on putting the Hydra in my '01 first
If I am not comfortable with the A/F ratios, I will wait on installing the Hydra and focus on putting a MS in the '94 first. Note, I will be putting the MS on a SC car, not a turbo. |
I probably never would have built an MS for myself, but I bought a PnP (literally) the day it came out. I was the first. You bitches are all followers (at least those of you with DIY's PnP).
I only joined here because I got one.... (the first 9697pnp) and helpful and informative info here.
I am a newb to this forum and have one on the way now for my NB. Great info here. Almost went the Xede route and am glad the MSI option exists and is well sorted by the user community.
In my mind it is a lot like linux and linux apps - Open source architecture, supported by a bunch of users freely sharing information and making improvements. Very cool. |
Boo... Still waiting to buy because they are not done with 96-97's versions :vash:
Took me 9 monthes. Most of that time was back when MS was still not really used. I did it back when kingofleet was around and pimping out his PNP units.
Chad is hooking me up! I can't wait!
