TNG is all on netflix. I watched "all good things" the other day.

it got bigger in the past.

but seriously, I dont have time to watch forty million hours of TV. especially when more good shows keep coming out.

still, I maintain a modest library.

oh and I have all my ripped CDs in a storage tub in my basement next to a tub of my wife's CDs.

The mouse on my work computer has a tilting scroll wheel. I have mapped tilt-left to go back in a browser.

The mouse on my home computer does not have a tilting scroll wheel.

Without fail, when I come home and start using my computer after work, I try to go back by tilting the non-tilting scroll wheel. It does not work.

You don't have the back and forward thumb buttons? You aren't even at 1998 standards.

I just set up this thing with Google Voice. Sound quality is excellent. Completely free service. You can pay $2-3 a month if you really need emergency calls.

I can't imagine why anyone still pays $25+ for landlines anymore.

I know. Just too lazy to bother actually buying a mouse and replacing it. This one works.

Worried I drained the oil only find I had about 1.5qts out of 4.2. Under the car was a mess and it was clear it was leaking from the oil fitler and it just happened. I had gone 4500 since the last change and was planning to do it soon, but after I filled it up there hasn't been another drop on the ground.

tl;dr: dont buy k&n oil fitlers.
WIX or GTFO! I've seen studies that put WIX above every brand filter out there. They hold more oil for faster pressure after start, they filter finer particulate, and they last as long or longer than most. We actually did a test back in automotive school where we ran filters, then crushed them to compare results of how much oil came out. I remember WIX was either the best, or somewhere up top on our tests. I've used them ever since, and never a single issue.

Well you gotta use it through ur computer dont u? I dont want to have to have to have my pc on every time i gotta make or receive a call which is why i like the magic jack. No pc required just plug into ur ethernet and the other end goes to a power and of course the last goes to a regular house phone. you take and receive calls normally.

No. I have a regular landline phone plugged into the Obi100.

Wife was using up the minutes on her $30 T-Mobile plan so I wanted lots of free minutes. VOIP over cell data sucks, but VOIP over DSL is pretty good.

I haven't had a home phone, or used a phone connected to a land line in probably 10+ years. Part of me misses the classic off white long spiral cord phone that everyone had in their kitchen, hanging on the wall.

I severely miss the voice quality of land lines. Even when one user is on a land line vs mobile, the improvement in intelligibility is substantial for me. I think I have a deficit in the vocal processing center of my brain, though my hearing is fine.

I thought I was the only one like that. I can understand people face to face, especially if I can see their mouth while they talk. Put me on a phone with less than ideal quality and I struggle to understand what they are saying.

Well the only reason why my family had a land line was because people like to talk for hours and hours.. yeah 600 minutes a month aint gonna cut that ****.

^ This.

It seriously annoys me when people call me on my cell phone when they know damn well I'm in the office. Compound my annoyance when they are calling me from THEIR cell phone, when I know damn well that THEY are also in their office.

I've had Vonage at home since about 2003 or so, which I guess is also 10+ years at this point. I find the quality of that system to be essentially indistinguishable from traditional POTS service.

Frankly, I don't use it very much, but my mother who lives in Florida likes to call and talk for long periods of time, so I have my Vonage box assigned to a number that's a local call for her. (She still suspects that I must be doing something illegal to make this happen. Which is understandable, given that I did get into some trouble with the phone company in my youth.)

I detest talking on the phone. I cannot fathom how or why so many people seem to have their phones glued to their ear all day. What the **** could you possible have to talk about that is so interesting? Or do people just like hearing their voices, and like others to hear them as well. Insecurity of some kind? My phone conversations are short, precise and to the point, no bullshitting. That is, when I can help it. Sometimes I get on the phone with someone who likes to ramble on and on, and then I have to pull a George Carlin.

The problem with WIX is: they aren't sold at advance auto pats and coupled on sale with 5qts of synth. oil.
