GM antennas have 4-5 antennas(gps,cell,fm,etc) integrated into one unit. Iirc some share circuits but the signals are split further down the line. I think it is possible to disable only the one you want but it been awhile since I took the class on them or had a problem with one.
The fix is nothing more than opening the case and removing the header that connects the main Onstar board to its antenna (daughter) board. A bit of googling shows this works on multiple GM platforms, so it may well be universal for Onstar units to date.

Yes, I'm aware, I was just thinking in more general terms. What I'm saying is that in general IDGAF about anything made by 2 of the big 3. I used to bleed Ford Blue but that's changed in recent years. They are doing some interesting things (1.0 3cyl, flatplane V8, EcoBoost, AWD Focus RS, etc) and actually using modern technology and materials while Dodge and GM are sitting out back eating paste while rebadging imports to make their CAFE numbers look better (last time I checked anyway.) So while at least Ford is being clever, its not enough to convince me to buy a domestic. Focus ST came very close last year, but I chickened out and bought a Subaru.

What is going on in the heads of people when they pass someone on the highway? Why does it make sense to slow down when passing someone, why do they do this? They ******* match the speed of the slow car and slowly slowly slowly crawl past them. Then, when they pass them they floor it and speed up again! Gah, so frustrating.
Also, if you notice you are passing slow, and there is a line of cars behind you, speed up, finish the pass, get your *** in the right lane, and be courteous to others.
If I see someone coming up on my *** and I'm not going much faster than the car I am passing, I speed up and pass as to not make them slow down. It is a simple courtesy, isn't hard to do, and keeps the flow of traffic moving!
Also, 90% of the time these people have California plates. What the hell CA!

In all seriousness, I wonder how long it will be until some combination of the EPA, USDOT and the NHTSA creates a rule which standardizes vehicle performance telemetrics and requires that the system be included in all new cars.
Much as is the case in the present day with regard to anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, OBD-II, etc.
I'm sure statistics will bear out that humans are far more fallible than an army of interconnected computers, so eventually, and in the name of serving our "best interests" no doubt, the opportunity (right) to risk our lives will simply be removed from us. Sadly enough, the current generation that is coming of age to driving seems fairly ambivalent to cars and driving in general. Perhaps they'd even welcome it. KMN

Reading the fine print in the Owner's Manual though, that data is available to the manufacturer, and reading the fine print in most insurance policies, you will see that, by accepting the policy, you agree to willingly surrender access to it (regardless of whether it came from commercially available equipment or not).

That could be because CA virtually eliminated all passing opportunity (broken vs. double yellow lines) on 2 lane undivided highways in the state a number of years ago (other than the most absolutely remote and deserted areas), and as a consequence the populace has basically become stupid and incompetent when faced with the death defying proposition of overtaking another car on an open road. Seriously, I bet over 80% of the drivers here could not even judge safe distances for passing with any oncoming traffic. As such, it is a lost skill, and a somewhat self-fulfilling prophecy as to why they needed to eliminate all passing on undivided 2 lane highways.

1985 was the last time Ford put a 4v carburetor on a Mustang. It took the form of the 1985 Mustang GT 5.0. First year of the roller cam 5.0, last year of the carburetor. I owned and drove one for quite a while.
It's because old guys can't be bothered to figure out fuel injection, and 302 4bbl manifolds and points distributors still fit on 5.0 blocks.

It's interesting to hear that...
I'm sort of on the borderline between "old guy" and "young guy." My first two cars were both carbed, and I'll be damned if I could ever figure out how to reall, properly tune one of those damned things. They're fiddly as hell if you're actually trying to achieve something resembling fuel economy and a proper mixture across the board. Change one little emulsion tube or jet, and you just whacked half the fuel table.
Ditto mechanical distributors. Got knock in one specific region? Tough *******- you're gonna have to retard the whole thing. (Or roll the dice and start fiddling with springs and weights.)
How any of that is supposed to be easier than typing a few numbers onto a laptop (and getting realtime feedback as you do it) confounds me.

Oh yeah Joe, but think about it this way:
Hook up a fuel line and maybe a regulator, 12v to a choke and a coil, and a host of autometer gauges and you are in business.
Vs
Transplanting and entire Ford ECC-IV fuel injection systsm, dealing with the additional sensors, disabling all the emissions crap that now won't work correctly, adapting the fuel system, etc, etc, etc.
