I love hypocrites.

After getting off work I hit 2nd gear and short shift to 5th. At a red light I hear "Hey this aint no drag strip, that aint no drag car NAH. C'mon!" Its a big black guy in a Hemi Ram. Light turns green and he takes off. WTF? He's doing at least 65 in a 45. I go to pass him to avoid slower traffic, as soon as he heard me he goes VVVRROOOOMMMM RRRUUUHHHH so I couldn't pass.

Dammit, just realized that the used R pkg front lip I bought was painted red, then repainted black at some point in the past. Now the paint is starting to crack and chip around the edges. I can't complain too much as I got a good price on it (though the 2 layers of paint weren't mentioned), but I'm getting tired of having to refinish and repaint every part that goes on my car.

Solution: Sand down and repaint before.

So today I was at a stoplight in my car and I decided that the mile or so of strait road in front of me was a dragstrip. I rev, dump the clutch and launch at ~3,500rpm at WOT. Tires spin about halfway up second and I finally get grip. Go to the top of third and the whole time I noticed there's a bigass pickup hanging onto the back of me.

Turns out it was a 5.7 supercharged Hemi. Damn that ****** was quick and loud.

I think the only answer is MOAR BOOST.

Fargin awesome!!! I finally got my FM2 clutch in. Talk about a heavy pedal. That thing will make a man out of me for sure. I bet it wont slip though. I was really surprised, as tight as that thing clamps, not a bit of chatter. Smooth as butter. I am a happy panda.

I'm so excited, I may just put my '96 diff and RX-7 lsd in tomorrow along with my cam gears!

Big thanks to Shuiend and Brain for the advice!

Just thought I'd share a few helpful observations, as even if you know something like second-nature, it is still occasionally useful to be reminded.

1: If you elect to remove a transmission by hoisting it up through the engine bay, and you forget to first drain the gear oil, it will all run out through the tailshaft onto the floor.

2: A typical five-speed transmission holds approximately 700 gallons of oil.
