Frankly, I'd rather be murdered.

Honestly wasn't expecting that much venom from a miata forum of all places...although its MT, so I should have. I'm guessing that none of you commenting on it have probably even driven one. It honestly doesn't seem any more gay to me than a miata.
Joe, I don't see how the ******* Geo is any less gay from any perspective.
Whatever, no love from the fagsquad. I can live with it.

When you drive a Prius, you are saying to the world, in the most magniloquently smug way possible "I am better than all of you people, and you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Never mind that I suck at math, I don't care that I paid 10x what this car is worth and that it handles worse than the barge that brought it over from Japan, it makes me feel more important than everyone else, and that's all that matters to me."
When you drive an Insight, you are saying exactly the same thing, while wearing unfashionable trousers and a pocket protector.
It's just intolerable, and I hope that you die of necrotizing fasciitis.

If it helps the math equation at all. I'm buying it for only $5400 with 120k mi on it, still has 30k mi on the battery warranty. My trousers are unfashinable though, I just buy them on sale at Kohls.

I like the Insight. It's a simpler car than the Prius (some would argue that this just means the Prius is a better hybrid, but w/e) and it has looks that those familiar with aerodynamics can appreciate. It's very much a fuel saving tool, where the Prius is a fuel saving fashion statement (IMHO). The Insight is also a favorite of the hypermilers, and with some of their "eco mods" they're recording up to 100 mpg, though this requires some unusual driving techniques.
I'd have an Insight or CRX HF if I didn't need much space, but the VW gets respectable mileage for a wagon.

I know a team calling themselves redlight racing stuck a K20 in one. Was like 200ish whp and they still got like 47MPG I think on the hwy. Bisimoto built a FWD all motor drag car with an insight using a F22, and making like 350whp. It ran something like a 9.2xx at 151mhp. With a 0.25 drag coefficient you can do some pretty cool things.

BTW - if you ever fly in a C17 (Yeah I know that's not a C17), try to snag the seats along the fuselage. The middle rows are just seats bolted to a platform that's slid into the middle of the plane, and they have about 3" of space to slide back and forth.

The seats in those are uncomfortable as ****, IMO.

I just sent this to my dad and wife. The story is that she backed the JSW into the edge of the garage and scuffed up the taillight a bit.
"Hi hun and dad,
I was browsing the web earlier and found this picture (attached), and it reminded me: Thanks dad for buffing the damage out of the VW. Hopefully it was as easy to repair as VW says it is
Love you babe
Matt"
