Part of me thinks it's awesome, but part of me thinks, why try to turn the Miata into an ultra high mileage car? I drove a really lightweight car with no HP that was more aerodynamic than the Miata, and while it was kind of interesting, it wasn't really fun.

I'd much rather have a CRX HF again than bother turning a Miata into a 55 hp semi-aerodynamic commuter. Different strokes, I guess, so more power to him if that's what makes him happy.

Hmm. Some ecomodders recommend using "race springs" so they don't have to slow as much in corners. Maybe that's what he's going for, a car with good suspension to start with. Not that a CRX is any slouch in the suspension department either...

I think a CRX is what I'd choose for a hypermiler. HF is already 50+ MPG, throw in some ugly aero (snowplow, boat tail), lower it, skinny tires, mooneyes wheel covers, kill switch, etc. and some have seen over 100 while doing competitions.

Wonder if those can be built to tolerate decent amounts of boost? If you could boost it and get it into the 150whp range, you would still be well underweight from stock, and making decent power. I like how the weight is also lower and further back. Might have to find something out back to lighten to keep it a bit more even.

Totally wrong car for that engine. I could understand a VW 1.9 diesel in a miata, but not that. Shoulda just bought a metro. Unless it can be made to rev like a bike engine and boosted. That might be neat.

Wow, an acutal guy who posts in the beginning knowing a good amount what to do, has stuff ready to be put in, and whats good for it. I'm excited to see this build up. I'm already eyes deep in my drift build. I keep adding parts that I didn't think of at first. I've spent close to 7 grand so far and it's worth every penny!

I'm at the DMV right now and this is the situation.

The only lady in here with a baby just HAD to sit behind me. She also has what I believe is her mother with her. Shes "cute" talking the baby an excessive amount and then giving commentary to her mother about what's going on in here. Now I smell a hinder of **** wafting my way. Not to mention the 3 of them keep coughing and a foot keeps hitting my chair.

Is it dick if I get up and move? Cause if I stay here I might just turn around and say something.

I swear some people are put on this earth just to annoy others. This bitch has zero lack of respect for others in her area. I guess she thinks it's ok since she's a MOTHER.

Get up and just walk around for a couple minutes like you are stretching. Then sit somewhere else.

Get up and move, don't be a bitch. Lack of respect for other people and their personal space pisses me off more than anything just about.

Reminds me of the woman who was sitting behind and to the left of me on the flight from Dusseldorf to Atlanta a few weeks ago. She's brought on board an infant in a car seat, which she places in the seat directly behind me and then quite carefully and expertly wedges firmly into place against the back of my seat, forcing it upright and preventing it from moving at all.

Really? Can you not see that I'm 6'1" tall, sitting in a coach class seat, and about to embark on an 11 hour flight during which time I might possibly want to recline my seat just a little bit?

That's when tactile pens come in handy. True story. I think you can figure out the rest.

I was at the mall once and this lady's kid (1 1.5yrs?) was screaming insistetly and mom didn't want to take charge of the situation as she just sood there talking on the phone. It was that scream that makes your ears ring event at 50ft away. I stay calm, but some teenager walking by said quite loudly "someone put a plug in that baby's ***!". I clapped.....softly. Kids need to be told who's boss...even if it's from a stranger.

Parents need to be that, Parents. ****, my mom used to give my brother and I preventive whoop-asses before walking into a establishment, friend's house, and any other place where she wanted us to behave. It worked lol we knew what was coming if we didn't --->

I'm vocal when it comes to bad parents with regards to kids. My wife and I will have loud conversation about how awful those children are and how the parents should be ashamed...they hear us, sometimes act but typically do nothing.

We make it a general rule to avoid children when possible.

Also in the mall, we make it a rule never to move for people walking at us. I got sick and tired of constantly turning my shoulder so the Paki family walking against the "traffic" flow won't run into me. We've had a few interesting confrontations from that. But whatever, they could move.
