You'd think if one had a need to castrate rats on a large scale it would be done chemically, and I'd think if one where to castrate rats chemically it would just be added to their food or given via a shot, not requiring a full time employee.

How did you find out about this position? I'd castrate rats full time.

Precisely. The principle consumers of industrial-grade rats in the US are research laboratories.

Gearhead, I really have no idea what sort of educational / career path one would seek out in order to obtain full-time employment as a professional rat castrator.

I wouldn't actually want to castrate rats full time, I think I'd want that on more of a part time thing. I was more curious as to how you found out the job exists in the first place.

I wonder how much more I might have appreciated watching "V for Vendetta" if I'd read up on King James I, Guy Fawkes, the Gunpower Plot, etc. beforehand.

Ah, now it makes scene. When I was growing up, my parents always had NPR on in the kitchen, I did learn a lot.

You would have appreciated that he was trying to overthrow the British government of the day and to help install a theocratic monarchy in its place.

This statement is false.

Does the set of all sets contain itself?

So you're telling me that the British government at that time wasn't a theocratic monarchy?

My apologies, a catholic monarchy. I suppose the theocratic part was there.

I hate when people stay logged into remote sessions late into the night when I need to reboot servers.

If I log them off, I'm an *******. If the server is slow because they're ******* retarded and cant follow basic directions allowing me to reboot servers, I'm an *******.

Indeed. I'm not saying I sympathize with his cause, just that if I understood that the movie was very loosely based on historical events I would have better understood a lot of the symbolism. 5th of November, tunnel under parliament, Guy Fawkes masks, etc.

Besides though, The Church of England basically told Catholics "Hey, we're going to change something and make a new religion, and you will like it, and you don't play along, we'll kill you." I can see how that would lead to a group of 13 mischievous Catholics wanting to start a revolution, if only to return to the previous status quo.

But then again, the whole thing is evil (no matter the motive) because it's yet another historical example of "my interpretation of a ficticious old book is better than your interpretation of a ficticious old book" and is a silly thing to fight and die over.

It's never been just 13 mischievous Catholics.

It realizes that it's never been just 13 Catholics rebelling against the oppressive Protestant majority.
