No mold issues in almost 5 years so far..

I don't want to take the machine apart to figure out how to make it take in more water. With three dogs in the house, the washer gets a lot of use, and downtime would be undesirable.

I'll just go to a Bosch/Siemens service and try to extract some info out of the techs.

About the water injection pump...

Evidently no amount of rice would be able to cure the thing.
After failing a manual test, I removed and bench tested the pump. Dead.

So, I took it apart. Turns out one of the tiny springs applying pressure to the brushes rusted out and broke. No brush contact, no go.

Having no replacement springs around, I just had to make one.

I cleaned everything inside the motor, and lubricated the bearings, and it runs perfect now.

Here is a pic of the good spring: (The other one had crumbled down to its individual molecules)

Cm, not inches, BTW

so i have a weird problem with my new car, when it gets warm and your sitting in traffic or moving through a parking lot it wants to idle up to 2k-3500 rpm and hold. timing is set correctly, and its only when the car is warm so it shouldn't be a vacuum leak. i have the stuff to clean the throttle body and IAC just havnt done it yet, but am i barking up the wrong tree?

Throttle plate hanging?
Return spring OK?
Throttle cable sticky/frayed?
TPS OK?
Coolant level too low? (CTS could be dry, reading "cold")

it seems fine but ill throw some lube on it
unpluging it causes CEL, the addon jackson racing tps extender is still there for now, haven't got around to getting rid of it. Also was the 96 tps a 4 wire tps?
Last time i checked it a week ago it was still full.

Looks like your initial idle adjustment is out of range.
Warm up the car, then unplug your IAC. Adjust the idle screw at small increments for 900 - 950 rpm, with no electrical load on the engine (headlights, A/C, heater, defroster, etc. off).
Turn the engine off and back on to verify idle speed.
Once satisfied, turn off engine, plug IAC back in, and you should be OK.

Is it just me, or has Mythbusters become less about science, and more about blowing things up and then giggling about it?

According to Savage, blowing things up was a prerequisite for the show.
Discovery pretty much demanded that.

I think discovery channel has jumped the shark as a whole. So sad when I grew up with educational TV instead of reality crap.

This weekend a friend showed me a video that was left on his recovered stolen laptop.

Synopsis: three black girls all wearing some form of fuscia purple playing make believe McDonalds. They even had a McDonalds theme cash register toy. Like this I guess:

And they proceeded to order a bunch of bullshit and finally the server told them the total . All the while the smallest of the three girls was staring directly at the laptop's camera for some reason.

And when the bigger girl gave the server her credit card, the server declined it. The big girl proceeded to get irate and explain that she just went ot WalMart and got her daughter's hair did and this all devolved into a (play?) fist fight that ultimately included toy bats.

Pretty awesome.

Emulating behavior witnessed previously, no doubt. Certain aspects of society deserve more than just a facepalm.
