Dont even get me started on the lady that lives behind us.

When i get the snow blower out, i dont just do our driveway and put it away. My driveway is the last one to get done after everyone else on the corner.

While the snow blower is far easier than shoveling, it still requires some physical effort. After about 6 driveways and sidewalks, i start mine. We are on a corner lot, so i start down the side toward her. Halfway there, i see her waving (not like a hi kinda wave) and she points to her driveway. Ok.....and she has a teenage son.

Thankfully, i have few neighbors that i consider close friends. One that i shoot with on a team and another that will drop what he is doing, and help without a peep. He is the guy that will come down and help bail water in the middle of a hurricane at 2am. They more than make up for dick.

This is odd, but I actually respect Tom@FFS a little more for just straight up trolling with his "superchargers are superior to turbochargers" bit. I disagree, but at least he's owning it.

I got the new engine swapped into my 99. Tomorrow I install a new slave cylinder, fill with coolant and burp, then put on tires and hopefully she runs well. Then get to work with swapping a vvt motor into the 94 I have sitting in the garage. After that I get to start working on the 1.6 MKTurbo setups.

That Mnet thread is easily one of the dumbest things I've ever read, including the final book in the Twilight series.

My one neighbor is an Indian who's very religious (lutherian?) and keeps asking me to join his church. But overall a nice family and keeps their **** clean so I tolerate their late night indian parties. The other neighbor scalps the **** out of their lawn because the mower was set to the lowest possible setting and he doesn't know/care that it can be raised, so the lawn is now all weeds and dirt. Has yet to trim any shrubbery in the 6 years he's lived there so the plants are almost up to the roof. Christmas lights tangling. Etc. He tends to enroach onto my front property line when mowing (I put a fence in the side and back yard on his side) which sends me into a rage. It has been impossible for me to keep the weeds off my lawn.

My wife talked to his wife the other day and apparently they just had another kid. We had no idea they were pregnant again. They are Egyptian and smoke hooka on the front porch. The wife has a crazy eye and runs into the frame around the garage door often.

Oh, one if their house number numbers are dangling by one nail, upside down. The downspouts are missing the bend at the bottom, one was run over by said lawnmower and chewed up, underneath shrub.

I've been hoping to do so for the last few years. Or get the courage to tell him that's an option, but I have no *****.

our neighborhood is great. everyone is either super nice or super reclusive. there are a few ruffians who live over my back fence that have loud cookouts, but they may have moved away. certainly the worst one moved away and now lives in Chantilly with a bunch of cats and no miata.

the weird thing is that most people on my street have duplicate names of some kind in adjacent or almost adjacent houses.

on one side of me is Chris and Kristin
my other neighbor is Matt
then Pat and across the cul de sac another Pat
across the street from us used to be Steve and Jenn (my wife is Jenn)
and now it's Brad and Erin.
Their neighbors were Erin and Dan.
Across the street from them is another Dan.

it's very easy to remember the names on this street.

oh also, half of my neighbors brew beer. when we are out shoveling the walks in winter, one of them brings his brews out.

My neighbor hood is very friendly. All the kids play together (all 18 of them), and we help each other out. Start a job like sealing your driveway, and at least one person will show up unasked and pitch in. I often describe it as a Norman Rockwell type place. Were I to win the lottery, I'd still live here, it's that nice a community.

I started a summer tradition a couple of years ago that I call "Sundaes on Sunday". All the kids get ice cream, and get to put on their own toppings (I buy all sorts in bulk). It's a huge mess, but I just hose off the porch afterwards. The adults get soda or beer and we all hang out for an hour or two while the kids run off the sugar rush. The first one starts the week school ends, and happens about every 3-4 weeks all summer.

Nice. We dont have space for the sundaes, but we do have a good sense of pitching in. I had help pulling my stump out and building my garden bed, if only to socialize.

I also tend to shovel a few extra houses when it snows. Just because. But also because one of the Pats is elderly and walks a lot. This winter she fell on her *** on some ice after a re-freeze. That sucked!

There are also a ton of kids on our street and since it's a near-zero traffic loop, there is lots of street space to play.

[vent] I get into an email exchange with my mother, who is kinda crazy. Everything is about how I am not respecting them and am not the man I was taught to be etc...

I counter an email after drinking a few beers and tell them how I am really feeling lately...depression and other thoughts.

All they come back with is how much I don't care about them and that I'm selfish.

Thanks ********.

So this guy tows over a lemons impreza 6 to my house yesterday. Gutted, caged, and about the most haggardly looking engine bay I've ever seen in my life. I mean seriously, I don't think anyone that's ever touched this car had even a shred of hope that it will actually someday run. Wiring harness and basically everything hacked up and chewed up to the point that I don't even know if it was assembled by humans.

It's wired up to a microsquirt from DIYAutotune.

He goes: "it just needs a tune, we have a race coming up on thursday, so I'd like it tuned and running/ready to race".

I connect to it, by some miracle it actually communicates with my laptop (I lol'd at the headphone jack that it actually uses for tuning cable). Start car, it actually starts, rev it a few times, and the microsquirt actually catches on fire.

That's right. The brand new microsquirt unit.

So that was cool.
