Um? So out of x number of players on your team who didn't get knocked the **** out. You were the only one who couldn't avoid running upto the guy?

Was it mentally stimulating?

You just do not let the little guy get beaten up.
I did, of course, ran up to the guy willingly.

It was not "stimulating" as you put it in an effort to ridicule my actions.
I'd rather take a beating myself rather than watch a disadvantaged smaller person be beaten.

So, in this sense, I could not avoid running up to the guy.

You go ahead and avoid it.

No argument for or against here.
But saying it was unavoidable is just silly. You did actually make a mental choice.

About two years ago I got punched in the head several times and after it was all over it was the best I felt in a long time...

Basically what happened is we had a psych patient who was threatening violence. We attempted to de-escalate but it was unsuccessful so we were instructed to move the patient from the common area into his room and restrain him so that he could be medicated. (while I am not a security officer, I am on the team that responds to violent patients because I did work as a hospital security officer for 12+ years).

Anyhow, Officer 1 goes in to the patient's right arm, Officer 2 goes in for left arm, and a moment later I dive in below to control the knees and prepare to lift and carry if he fights. I get a good bear hug of the guys knees which will prevent him from getting any momentum behind a kick or kneeing attack, but the officer controlling the guys left arm must not have had applied the restraint technique properly because next thing I know I am getting pummeled from above. I only got hit about four times before the officer regained control and we were able to lift the guy and move him to his room. I could have had him charged with assault but the guy was very sick (mentally) and getting him involved in the legal system would have only had negative effects on him and society in my opinion. The dude needed treatment.

The adrenaline rush from the head strikes really got me going in a positive way. It makes me wish I had time in my life to enroll in some Ju-Jitsu or some other fighting art because it felt so real and I felt so alive and present in a struggle.
That was by far not the only violent altercation I have had with a patient but it is the first one that has ever managed a meaningful impact.

I haven't been hit with a closed fist with intention since the 4th grade.

In college some buddies and I would occasionally engage in some front yard boxing after some drinks, but we always used boxing gloves (and we were all terrible at it anyway).

A couple years ago while playing sports, I set a slightly enthusiastic pick on a guy. The next time I went to set a pick on him, he responded by pushing his open hand into my face. I took one step back and smacked the outside of his elbow with my open hand to knock his arm away. We said stupid things to each other for 10 seconds and then it was over.

That's it for me.

Agreed, 25 gigs every 2-3 weeks does get old.

The PATCHES are 25 gigs? How the hell large is the core program?

On an unrelated note, I've spent a little over $700,000 (of real-world money) in the past four hours, and I've still got about a million left to plow through... I know this sounds like a silly complaint, but spending large amounts of money quickly is tiresome. I have a headache, a backache, I'm tired, and I want to go home.

currently the game is 35 gigs or so. Reason for the large patches is because they add a lot of stuff so to prevent bugs they replace the files instead of editing them.

On release they expect the game to be about 100gb

I am responsible for financial planning for my division. Currently trying to chew off the planning for capital expenditure in 2017. Last i looked i was just over 1.25m. This is on top of my <$500,000 annual budget i get.
Last year we needed to buy a piece of equipment that was just less than a quarter million dollars and it was bought using my company credit card. (i do think they raised, then lowered the limit shortly after though)

This isn't even the most stressful part of my job. I rarely get questioned about the $50,000 piece of equipment. The worst part is that i'll have 3 different people tell me where to put it, how to move it, and what color to paint it.

Joe, did you go to Tom's restaurant when you were in New York?

I went there once, about 20 years ago, just to say I'd been. It looks nothing at all like the set on the show (you can see that just from the exterior shot) and it filled with Seinfeld memorabilia.

The food was decent but unremarkable.

In high school basketball, the other team had a guard that was 'slightly enthusiastic' about reaching in and slapping my arms. Next time I got the ball, he essentially hugged me, so I dipped low, got my elbow up into his crotch and lifted him up over my head. I got a technical, and he continued to be a little bitch the rest of the game.
