Serious question for drag racing folk..
When you guys are talking about 60' times - like 1.8 seconds - does this cover the time from the green light, or the actual moment the car rolls and trips the beam?
I mean, if it's the time elapsed between the green light and the 60' mark, there are way too many variables there.
Reaction time, driveline lag, etc all ad up.

One more question...
I am a new cat person. Not a cat owner, it is not my place to "own" a living being. We just live together and she does not help with the bills.
Anyway.. I woke up in the middle of the night, with this cat sitting on my chest and licking my temples. Right at the hairline. As if she was grooming my hair.
I did not want to scare the cat and went back to sleep after a while. She was just purring and grooming me in my sleep.
Should I be concerned or happy?
Is this a dominance thing, or was she just showing affection?

She thinks you need a bath.
Lol.
The difference between the green light and the staging beam not being blocked by the front tire is the reaction time. The 60-foot time is the difference between the beam not being blocked and the first 60 ft light being blocked. They are measured separately.

Got roped into it this year. Son wanted to join, but had not been in any of the previous (Lego) teams. He was given special dispensation based on the fact that he's an honor student, and the wife volunteered (engineering notebook). She called me at the behest of the guy that runs it, who begged me to mentor. I did, provided I did no fund raising or community relations stuff. It has been both fun and hair-pulling frustrating, and takes up a huge chunk of time, three nights a week.
Biggest challenge is working with old equipment and parts on a shoestring budget. We need to get some corporate sponsors.
We have some really bright kids, who just need some instruction. Not a single one of my team members had ever used any kind of saw or file before! Now, I can let them cut and deburr a part all by themselves.

Yeah its interesting seeing different teams and the level of sponsorships they have. I'm currently acting as a temp judge this year at FRC and it has been a ton of fun.

Power went out at work for 3 hours. Bunch of crap blown over in the area. Was supposed to leave for VIR at 5pm but all the bridges across the bay were closed so went home and tried to sleep till 1. Bridge/tunnel had reopened to cars by then so made it to VIR around 630 this morning

So recently every time I check YouTube there's some kind of conspiracy video on there about either the world being flat, or in the Moon landing being fake. Would anybody like to debate either one of these topics to me?

The flat earthers are a group of trolls (although they have probably convinced a certain number of morons), and the moon landing hoax people usually have an argument that goes something like this:
"I mean come on, really? Just look at it. It's obviously fake."
