wow they found the same skull at two different digs! impressive.

almost as impressive as the fact that in Washington, D.C. a 5% INCREASE in spending is considered to be a "cut."

As Charles Krauthammer put it "You can "cut the budget" by $100 TRILLION by first proposing to spend that much coating the moon in yogurt and then cancelling the project."

Waiting for Obama's proposal...I'm guessing the above holds true.

Researching OS's for netbooks...has anyone used custom XP builds like MicroXP?

As you might expect, it's XP but stripped of just about every unnecessary/extraneous feature. Supposed to be the **** for maximum gaming performance or for netbooks.

I've used a few, back in the day. Been a while, but from what I remember they were buggy. Sometimes they removed some important stuff that some programs need.

Any reason why you want XP instead of say, Linux?

I played with XPLite a while back. Turned out to be a lot of hassle for not much gain.

The big advantages seemed to be decreased footprint and slightly faster boot times, but once the OS is up and running, they're not doing anything you can't do yourself in the Services panel.

Sidebar: A co-worker of mine just had an aftermarket "performance" muffler fitted to his Toyota Sienna minivan.
