Hehe...while I was waiting in the DMV Inspection office, one of the patrolmen was telling me stories of guys bringing in stolen vehicles for title bond inspections. Apparently they are required to immediately seize the car if it gets a hit on the stolen vehicle registry.

The best was a few years ago...he said a guy rolled up in a 2005 BMW 740il with aftermarket wheels. "Owner" claims he paid $6k cash but the seller had lost the title, and that he (the "owner") had dropped another $5k-6k on the wheels. DMV runs the VIN and sees that it's flagged as stolen. Doesn't say anything about it being stolen, just walks out with the guy to do the inspection. As they walk out he sees someone in the car. Conversation goes as follows:

DMV: Sir, who's in the car?
Dude: That's my lil bro.
DMV: Please ask him to exit the vehicle.
Dude: What?
DMV (into car): PLEASE EXIT THE VEHICLE.
Dude: Man, whatchoo doin?
DMV: Sir, this car has been flagged in our stolen vehicle registry and we are required to take immediate possession of it. If you need to call someone to pick you up there's a phone in the office.
Dude: What!? Man I paid $6k straight up CASH for this. I didn't steal it.
DMV: $6k is about a quarter of what it's worth. You might not have stolen it, but someone did.
Dude: Aight, ya'll got some jackstands so I can take my wheels?
DMV: That's not possible, sir. You are not allowed to remove anything from the car. If you've left any personal items in the car, you can remove them now under my supervision.
Dude: <crying> Man, I can't afford this. How do I get my car back?

At that point the patrolman explained the salvage auction process to the guy....unfortunately for him, the car sold for $19k a couple weeks later.

sounds about right.

my cousin bought a Bronco and then totally restored it using new parts from LMC, etc.

the cops took it a couple weeks after he'd finished it. he probably lost $10k.

Also, this is pretty funny:

Most of the questions on there are ridiculous but there are little nuggets of humor in every topic.

He traveled recently and I found a big bottle of lubricant (half used), cialis and a long list of gay clubs (in his writing). He has been doing HIV and STD test without telling me( found the results). He has gay club membership cards in two different countries. I have also noticed he is a member of a gay dating site(which he visits at least twice a day- before and after work).

My parents relationship was very similar and honestly it would have been better for all us kids if we had known about this before we all reached our teenage years my mom told me she was lesbian

If you're putting ice in beer, wine or shots, then you lose.

1 oz is for liquor in "bartender doesn't like you" land. a standard shot is 1.5 oz.

besides

I dont want to go to the party serving wine in a red solo cup. beer, sure. but not wine. and mixed drinks... well, that's a different party and should have real glassware.

It took me awhile to wade through the random periods and odd words to find the price that didn't have a $ sign in front of it. I hate the internet.

But srsly. $900?!?!
