Back in '05 I bought a generator and a window unit to sling into operation if things ever go that way here again. I can't sleep in the friggin' heat/humidity around here in the summer and damn sure won't leave the windows open with the power off. I don't need looters/home invasion types in the middle of the night. For short term outages I use a power inverter in my truck that is strong enough to run the fridge, a tv, and interior lights without having to fire up the generator. I just run a big orange extension cord out from under the garage door to the truck. I use the spare keys to lock the keys in it with it running for 15-30 minutes at a time.

You assume I didn't just move into a basement that has a/c for the time being.

4 more weeks until we move!!

Living here has been the ultimate test of my patience.

Calling the housing mediator today to report the multitude of issues to try and keep it from being rented in the future.

I think you need to see how many chipmunks you can kill before you move out.

Dilemma:

Freshly built engine waiting to be broken in.

New clutch installed while the engine is out.

Engine breaking in procedure requires full throttle runs.

Clutch break in procedure requires abstaining from full throttle runs.

Now what...

well how about this:

1. engine break ins DONT require full throttle run
2. clutch break ins are silly and pointless*.

* unless you were stupid and got a silly CF clutch that will just heat cycle and wapr regardless so it doesn't even matter.

Now what...
Clutch will hold the power after the first 10 miles anyway. If it can't after you've used it a few times just making a one gear pass, its not going to at all anyway when you actually use and abuse it.

Don't shift during the higher power run. Have the clutch engaged completely when you start your pull and just run it in that gear a few times (4th or 5th).

Turns out I had a brainfart..
6 to 7k runs at partial throttle, at 100kpa or just under is not WOT.
I just had a very long day, hence the lapse.
And, it's not a CF clutch. FM Level I.

On everything but I flat tappet engine Ive always run the **** out of an engine for break in..

Havent had to do it in a long time, but I remember the logic behind it being the rings are worn in almost immediately and you want the most cylinder pressure initially to help seal them better.

Always worked great for me.

exactly. but verizon wireless, which we both had, when you could connect to a cell, failed to route to 9-11 correctly. furthermore, none of the local stations had service to recieve calls anyways.

but I had cell service if I walked up the street, but not at the apt, which I thought was really odd. but i was hanging out with a ffx county officer all weekend, so I felt safe.
