I'm glad I went out this morning before I get in bed to swap my front wheels back to the 15" ones. The stock 14" with Shititomo tires on it were vibrating initially, and over the last two weeks worsening into a front end shimmy and severe bounce. I started to let it go till this weekend. When I took the driver side one off, I found the tread swollen about 1/3 the circumference of the tire at about 1" tall, with the entire outer most layer with wires exposed and cut through. It would have failed in the next day or two, probably in a catastrophic blowout. No wonder it felt like the front end was nearly bouncing off the ground. I've never seen a tire do that quite so severely.

My bad luck here lately...

several strange men are in my house removing my old windows and replacing them with new baller ones. if I wasn't so excited about removing those lead dust machines or being able to actually open all of my windows, I might feel the slight ripping of my anus from the cost.

Vinyl. Aluminum seems to be not well liked. Some people get wood but most high end installs are fiberglass. We went with high end vinyl because it's good enough to get a lifetime warranty on the windows and installation basically.

the windows I'm getting are probably strong enough to last through some light hurricanes and tornadoes and that's more than they'll ever see.

Nice. The house we bought 2 years ago has all double-paned windows...I'm confident it's one of the reasons our electric bill is so low.

I replaced the windows in my house about 2 years ago. Energy savings really didn't add up to much, but they reduced drafts in winter to make the house much more comfortable. I think I spent about $5000 on 13 or 14 windows, installed.

we didn't do it for energy savings. ask anyone, they will tell you it's not worth it and never pays for itself.

I think I did a total of 17 but one was a total tearout and one was a garden window that cost about 2k by itself. then add on the divided lights and lead paint abatement requirements and it was quite a bit more than 5k.

Just got a bill from the Ohio dot for repairs to the guardrail I slid my car in to. 536$ for repairs and replacement of the rail. So out of curiosity I drive down to said place, they knocked some of the paint off, not even all of it. A little pissed off.
