Soo... I may have just come across a couple square intake manifolds.. I'll be selling them on here by next week once I get them.

Hopefully people want them.

I just checked into a hotel, and I am in room 404.

Nerds will understand why this is funny.

So a friend of mine is trying to sell off a 90 miata. I believe it has a little over 200k on the short nose block. The shell is supposedly rust free. Right now the car does not move, I believe it just needs a slave cylinder and then bled. It is priced at $450 Do I go for it or not?

Would it ruin your friendship (and would you care) if your friend realized that you replaced a $30 slave cylinder and then resold the car for $1200?

He knows it just needs a slave cylinder. Long story short is that he needs cash fast. I have no plan to flip the car. If I pick it up the plan would be my 92 gets turned into a locost 7. My 94 drive train would be swapped into the clean 90 shells since the 94 has rust. Then with what is left over I some how hobble together a lemons/chump car and scrap the spare really rusted shell. So I at least have some sort of plan for owning 3 miatas.

Then do it, if you've got a plan, and $450 out of pocket isn't a big deal.

A more serious (not really) question:

Do I buy:

(1) 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo -- It looks pretty clean, and the mods and engine rebuild sound right. On the other hand, the front bumper looks like it's been replaced (different color). Accident history? Even so, if it's straight, it looks awesome and would be reasonably fun.

(2) 1991 BMW 318i -- Slow, but lots of potential. Clean E30's are getting harder to find, and this one is in a color I love with the right transmission. Would probably prefer a sedan, but could live with a coupe. Would need a turbo or a swap to really be fun.

(3) Just keep waiting for the mythical $1000 Miata and then throw $3000 in parts at it.
