Our Christmas lunch was pizza and wings. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I co-own the family business, and I run it. My christmas lunch was a smoked beef brisket sandwich.

I was at the office past 9:00 PM twice in the past two weeks. I would not be surprised if it happens again before the year is out.

I can't decide if it's a good thing when you are often at your desk after the cleaning crew has come and gone.

Tonight I bought 2 30 packs and a big bottle of jack and one of our guys stopped at the Brazilian deli and got a pound of shuhasko.

We're working tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, so there will be more drinking and eating to come for sure.

Another fun fact: you can't put moderators on your ignore list. Half the people that post here are mods.

Aaaaah, the Good Old Days of actually having a "quitting time"; I'm usually the first guy at the shop in the morning and the last to leave. When I'm sucked into what I'm working on, 14-16 hour work days are not uncommon, and almost always I'm bummed out at having to close up and head home. If I didn't have kids I'd likely just crash on the office sofa.

MFW. Just thought about Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 from out of nowhere, and had to download it and play it. $5 for the game and all 3 expansions on Amazon. Likely to be hours of entertaining distraction.

After an eight-hour road trip with my GF over the weekend for dinner and dessert, I think buying the 2009 V6 Accord is one of the best money-dumps I've done in my life. It's a ton of cash, but so much better than screaming around Texas at 90mph in the daily Miata.

Same here man.

I got an '07 Altima 3.5 last October and although I don't LOVE the car, its been so good to me. Starts every day without a hiccup, heated seats, A/C, leather, lots of space, decent MPG and not too shabby in the power dept, etc etc.

Its a boring car no doubt, but I've been pulled over in it once, compared to the Miata which was usually once a month! I can drive it year round, not give a **** if its clean or dirty and it doesn't break the bank (or break down).

Silver, bone stock, V6 Accord with V1 = speed with impunity.

My daily just started developing it's first major (I think) issue @ 172,xxx miles. Taking it to the shop tomorrow to see what the deal is. I always keep 2 grand stored away for vehicle emergencies.

One of my pet peeves is people who cannot photograph something on the ground (like a car part) without getting their feet in the picture. This is compounded by the fact that those same people often have ugly shoes and/or feet.

This is my first year having to figure out how much cash everyone gets for xmas bonuses. I want to make sure our regular people are taken care of, but without making anyone else feel like they got fucked. Meanwhile, there's none left for me in the end. lol

Which is totally ok because I know those are the little sacrifices you have to make sometimes, but its just funny to be on the other side of things now.

Going to order pizza and liquor too, so at least I'll get drunk out of it.

The last week at work has seen everyone essentially doing nothing and bring food and snacks to work.

This is the first Xmas eve day I've ever had off in recent memory. Kinda nice to just loaf before the holidays rather than deal with work/travel/family/holiday panic all at once.

I wasted all my leave early this year, so i didn't want to take anymore since I knew I'd be travelling again in 2014. I typically don't ever take leave unless it's to make long weekends due to holidays.

exmaple: last year I took like 4 days of leave and had 11 straight days off (including weekends) during the holidays. I'm really into bang for buck.
