Hurricane Michael

I'm getting my baby prepared for the storm. I have my 90' on Jack stands in the garage. I have it covered in a car cover as well as a precaution. Hopefully Crestview is pretty clear of the storm.

What is everyone else doing in NW Florida?

Thankfully I'm towards the top of the hill so I'm not worried about flooding, but I still have missing siding/fascia boards from the last storm up in Charlotte, and we're going to take a direct hit from this one.

I have friends that live in Niceville on the water and they said they are riding it out. I believe their house is about 10' above water level.

Hope they have enough beer and fuel for the generator.

Well shit, that looks like an awful place to be riding this level of storm out. Hope it goes ok for them.

At least in Niceville it will be blowing offshore and shouldn't flood. East of center is going to be seriously flooded with surge. And that's all low, flat land so it will push miles inland. Tallahassee is on a hill but it is the exception for that area. Apalachicola and all the oyster docks will be wiped out. That's all low river delta land. St. Marks is a fishing village on a mud flat so it's gonna be gone.

Looks like it's aiming for somewhere between PCB and Port. St Joe. Heard from an old friend of mine in Defuniak early this morning and he said it was already getting pretty ugly up there. East side is usually the "dirty" side of the storm. Hoping all the MT members up there stay safe and make it out the other side fine.

Seems like everything in Okaloosa and westward should be fine unless the storm doesn't pivot.

Hahaha, I don't know what it looks like now but it must have been absolute crap in 2006 because it was miserable in 1995.
