WTF Koreans? are you trying to be Japanese? copying shit line for line?

jayc72 03-20-2008 05:19 PM

Once again Hyundai takes a good design and makes it ugly.

Loki047 03-20-2008 05:26 PM

I dont like the back window line on the genesis, but the G37 is fugly as well.

miataz 03-20-2008 05:39 PM

x2 if that line was straight it would look much nicer.

UrbanSoot 03-20-2008 06:17 PM

i like genesis more... is it fwd or rwd?

messiahx 03-20-2008 06:19 PM

It's crazy how Hyundai kept the same general shape but made it completely unappealing. It's like a cross b/n a G37 and a Mustang (I see it a bit in the rear roofline, it's like they smoothed it out). The rear looks pretty damn close to this concept Mustang: http://images.motortrend.com/auto_sh..._side_view.jpg

not exactly sure how i feel about the Genesis.....however, the color is kick-ass

Newbsauce 03-20-2008 06:48 PM

Looks very new Lexus ISish, so I kind of dig it. Knowing Hyundai it will be heavy and underpowered though.

Dark Wanderer 03-20-2008 06:55 PM

me like it :) I,m eager to see what will it have under the hood and the weight of it

hustler 03-20-2008 06:55 PM

300hp v8 on a budget > gay37

y8s 03-20-2008 07:32 PM

chicks will buy it

Saml01 03-20-2008 08:09 PM

Koreans arent the only ones copying. Have you seen the new Pontiac R8? Looks like a 5 series beamer from the side. Unless *gasp* Koreans are designing American cars.

I think you meant to say G8. I may look like a Bimmer but 30k for 400hp FTW.

Its RWD

"It will enter Hyundai's line up as an entry-level rear-driver powered either by a base turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, or more powerful all-aluminum 3.8-liter V-6 that is estimated to make over 300-bhp, and over 250 lb-ft of torque."

Yes, G8. Lol R8.

30k for a 400HP Aussie built muscle car, HELL FUCKING YEA is what I say.

That would be a tough decision.. modding the base turbo 4, or supercharging the 6.

teknikscian 03-21-2008 04:12 PM

i was just thinking the same. but given the probable weight of that thing id opt for an SC 6...

msydnor 03-21-2008 04:37 PM

I don't think it looks bad at all. When you consider it will likely be 300 hp and pretty inexpensive, not a bad deal. I think one thing that makes it ugly to many people is the Hyundai badge.

teknikscian 03-21-2008 04:40 PM

Yep, Hyundai is pretty nice nowadays. Im actually looking to get one for a DD. 10k for a new accent. cant beat it. im also a one frugal m/f and have no need for a "nice" car no matter how much i make

Trent 03-21-2008 05:08 PM

I wonder if the Hyundai aversion among our generation is the same thing my dad went through when Datsun became Nissan and actually started making decent stuff. To this day, my dad doesn't like Nissan products because he remembers the early years. lol.
