One of my favorite stories was during the 3 week period in which I got pulled over 4 times (none of them specifically for speeding) in my Evo8. I was approaching a four-way stop intersection with a cop car approaching from the opposite direction. I was driving mildly and put the car in neutral to coast to a stop. I started my slow "three Mississippi" mental count and hoped for the cop car to go first, but it just sat there. Lurking.
I starting to cross the intersection and bam! On go the lights. It was like the scene from Super Troopers. "I can't pull over any more! I'm already pulled over!" I was literally stopped from a near-stop. Did you get a ticket? |

Improperly colored front turn signals. They were OEM amber that the cop claimed were red. Yes, I received a ticket. Yes, I had it thrown out in court.
While there, an older guy (mid-to-late 60s) was dumbfounded fighting a ticket a young (20s) cop gave him... for riding his bicycle against the flow of traffic in a bike lane. |

I always heard your should ride against flow too, the logic being that you maybe could jump out the way because you see the car coming. Your pretty much effed if a car hits you on a bicycle anyway.

Bikes go with traffic and are supposed to obey road signs. Pedestrians go against traffic.

I used to have a gtx swapped (bp) 323 and it was the same, no cop attention, wonderful little car.
The miata catches the eyes of some cops (mostly for the license plate in the wind shield, ah hem not illegal) but it''s not too bad. Most attention is from people in larger vehicles that are angry that I own a miata. :crx: I never will understand why me owning this car angers some people so much. For the past year I've driven by a house with a good condition early 90's white festiva and annoyed everyone with me talking about how cool it is. My wife says always tries to steer me to a MS3 or WRX when this comes up. |
This saturday......Was a fun night:giggle:
This is OP's fastiva vs a 480rwhp/502rwtq Termie cobra |
"do you have a horn?" "because I don't" |
why no horn?
BECAUSE RACE CAR* *and idgaf if that term is played out. in this case its actually true |
holy shit snacks that festiva is dope.
The designer of the Festiva never in his mind would have imagined someone saying that before. |
Is that still at like 293whp or w/e he had a while back.
|
as far as I remember its somewhere between 250-300....we've changed stuff around and re-tuned it so many times since the dyno that no one really knows anymore lol
