I need to buy a webcam for new BABY!
Yup, wife is gonna pop any time now... parents on the west coast are gonna want to "see" everything, so I need a WEBCAM. My wife bought a $50 Creative Labs one for our notebook so we can use it anywhere in the house.
I'd like a desktop one as well. I've always had good luck with Logitech and CreativeLabs stuff... any suggestions. I've looked at Fry's NewEgg and Ebay... lots of choices. Somebody school me on the technology and what I should buy. Based on minimal research, I don't think there's any need for me to spend more than $50. |
Bump, I'm in need of one as well.
|
get one of those remote controllable ones from logitech. you can pan around and be a voyeur.
|
just get one with it's own IP, so you can hook it to your router and anyone can log in....
|
That is disgusting.
Exploiting her with a webcam show already? At least wait till she/he is 18. I thought that was illegal in VA. |
Get one of the logitech 1.3mp ones with the carl zeiss lens.
If you want your parents to see your kid, dont skimp on cheap ass cams. So are you gonna stream the birth live? Cause I wanna be in on that call. |
Dude, you've seen Knocked Up, right? Trust me, the last thing any man wants to see is his buddies wife's vag when a kid comes squirting out of
it. Hell, I'm not even gonna look! All right, is this the one: http://shop2.frys.com/product/5323928 |
When I saw webcam I thought you meant a custom ground cam for your car...oops
Anyways, congrats on becoming a daddy soon, but I am technologically challanged and cannt offer any advice. |

My sister had a kid a year ago, picked up one of these and its never failed. Full screen stream, and the quality is flawless. |

It's a girl. Last August one of my good friends was lost in a plane crash... he had an awesome unisex name. We've been pondering a middle name for a long time and new it had to be very feminine so she didn't go through childhood with people wondering if she was a boy or girl.
Cameron Lily... It's fitting she's a girl and we're naming her after the biggest backwoods Louisiana redneck you ever saw. I'm anti-pink, so I've been stockpiling some pretty sweet clothes to dress her in when I take her places. I've emailed Blackwater about making their onesies actually in black. http://proshop.blackwaterusa.com/vie...=&Search=Link# I've got about 6 things from this page: http://www.tshirthell.com/babyhell.shtml My wife even likes a bunch of these: http://www.theretrobaby.com/store/index.php?cPath=1 http://www.theretrobaby.com/store/im...ses_onesie.jpg http://www.theretrobaby.com/store/im...oll_onesie.jpg |

True, but then again, you mission in life becomes keeping her off the pole. :eek5:
Congrats Sam- I've got two girls: one and three years. The older has already claimed my Miata as "her little car", better than naming it princess like my slot cars. ;) I got one of those Dlink IP cams and just set it up with a username and pword for the grandparents to log in whenever they wanted. |

Bringing this one back. Hey Sam, which webcam did you get and how is it working out? My parents in NY recently asked about getting a webcam also.
Thanks. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |

We got this one. I didn't feel like spending more and it had all the specs. It works great, and the microphone has awesome fidelity. We Skype almost nightly with family and friends (as far away as Italy and Australia) and they say the pic/audio comes through clean and crisp. We wanted a laptop one for better portability, and it clips easily to the top of the screen and I can just take the laptop anywhere in the house rather than bringing the baby to the laptop. |
Sweet, thanks very much.
