Id love to carry in my car, but after having my cars robbed while I was in the store I'm afraid some thug might steal or "come up on" my glock.

Open a door in traffic near me and this is all you'll see. It's not nearly worth the hassle or aggravation of having the car damaged/stolen or getting injured. Rev it, dump the clutch, and bounce.

later edit: These are actual stripes I left while leaving a scene like the one described in the OP. Some guy thought I cut him off in a parking lot, and his passenger decided to open the door after we had both pulled out. I went back later and took the photo because I had the tires lit up through 2nd gear headed for the turn lane at the next light, and I figured the marks would be pretty neat.

When I'm alone, yeah, no need for anything more than my sense and two fists.

When you've got someone with you all the time that can't run, isn't as observant, and that you're not leaving behind for the world since they're carrying your child...you make damn sure you can defend them in ANY situation.

A gun is nothing more than a tool. A tool made for one thing. It's not a magic wand that makes bad situations disappear. If anything it makes any situation worse.

But should the situation arise where it is the only resort left, I'd prefer to be prepared.

Nah I hear ya dude. I completely agree. I think there's people with common sense that carry for a purpose, then there's those that carry just to carry, and they are probably lacking in the common sense department.

Good call.
That reminds me of the time I chased this guy who disrespected me. I was at a red light and he gave me the finger while he was driving. I decided to run a red light and beat his ***. When I catch up I tell him to pullover and theres 3 ****** skinheads in the car, I thought it was 1 guy. They all start screaming and shaking. I punk out then haul *** out and they chase me but I drive a miata so.

I'd hate to get shot or watch the woman behind the counter get shot in a store robbery while my gun was in the car.

Never underestimate how legitimately crazy the other person might be.

Have you ever watched "Dexter" on Showtime?

Good luck becoming swiss cheese. You jump out of your car and rush mine at a light you better be prepared to possibly get your *** blown away. Better watch your temper before you get yourself shot.

Nothing intimidates aggressive people like the sound of your driveshaft repeatedly slamming into your tranny tunnel during massive wheel hop.

This is a little off topic but what kind of Glock do you carry? Interested in getting my CWP.

This goes everywhere that I go. It might only put a small hole in you but a small hole will still let the red out...

I keep this handy under the seat, more so for scheming coworkers, however.

People make too big of a deal out of "stopping power". Sure a .40 or .45 might put them on their *** 1/10 second quicker, but a smaller round will do a pretty good job too. I know if I was going to rob someone and I got shot with anything, I probably would call off my attack if I was still able to move. Sure beats brawling with someone who may be carrying a knife or a gun himself.

I was thinking of a Glock 17. Would this be too bulky, or maybe a 27 would be more appropriate?

60 gr (3.9 g) Special Application Ammunition 2,410 ft/s (730 m/s) 774 ft·lbf

.357 Sig.. Basically a .40cal casing that fires a 9mm projectile.

Thats basically the same power in a 60 grain round as a 210 grain win .44mag, only traveling twice the speed. 2410 ft/s vs 1301 ft/s.

Plus its cheaper to shoot than a .40 or .44 mag I find.

Back to car jacking. I pronounced a car jacker last year who won idiot of the year award. He jacked a lady's lexus at a stop light by gun and took off clean. She calls the cops and they showed up and were interviewing the lady one the corner where she was jacked. Midway through the interview she says "that's him, there is my car" as the dude drives by. So the cops take off after him on a high speed pursuit, after a while he hits a dip going pretty fast, looses it, hits a tree, and gets ejected. Found him bent in half, and not the right way.

Little bit of justice I guess.

SK:

A carry weapon is just like a leather riding jacket...the best one to buy is the one you'll wear all the time. Doesn't do you any good, regardless of caliber, if it's at home.

This is what usually accompanies me any time I plan to be off the beaten path with my family in tow.

Taurus PT111 Millenium Pro

Highly under-rated, with lots of false crap on the internet about their reliability.

Mine is comfy, well-weighted, and has been through 1000+ rounds of all kinds of ammo with only one FTF, on some Wolf brand, and that was at the end of the box when all the extra adhesive on those rounds had clogged up the chamber.

It's not a range gun, and likes to shoot low, but is easy to conceal for a frame available in 9mm, S&W .40, and .45 ACP.

My wife can use it...which is important.

LMAO at d2bdoa's carjacker story...justice served...idiot.
