Yeah I have an 02 Saab 9-3 SE right now that I plan on upgrading soon. That will have to do for now.

Haha. That is sick!

You don't want a wrx though. Transmission == teh trash. Friend trashed his almost totally with a 3000rpm launch against an EVO VIIIMR who launched at like 5500. We went nowhere, EVO disappeared.

I would only get the STi. Unreal fast car with a turbo back exhaust and ecu.

ugh!!!! ppl with wrx should know better than to launch them. They are notorious for breaking 1st and 2nd gears. At least the subaru has a real transmission, unlike a modified fwd trans in the evo.... go to http://www.andrewtechautomotive.com/...nsmissions.htm i have a friend that works there has dog engagement 1-4 gears. He can launch off the rev limiter all day!!!!

FFS (haha!) I've launched my Mazdaspeed6 from 3500+ more than 40 times now and they supposedly have really weak drivetrains. He launched his maybe 4 times and trashed his transmission completely. He wants the straight cut gears but what he showed me is like 4500$ and do you REALLY want to try and drive that 60 miles minimum a day to and from work, Every day?? I used to really want a WRX but from what I've seen of friends cars I wouldn't own one. One local guy bought a bone stock 03 I believe and I stomped a mud hole in him everytime in the MS6, from a dig, roll, etc.. He scored a full turboback, up pipe, and mild tune with an AP.. Now I can't even touch his car anywhere but launch to about 500 feet, then hes pulling me. Thats impressive gains for the like 1000$ he spent on it all but damn.

As for the EVO I really don't see what difference it makes if the engine is longitudinally or transversely mounted. I hate mitsu and they even made me like the Evolution. Every track test I've seen on factory vs factory cars the EVO has won out in every area I would look for if buying a car like that, even at our local auto cross the few EVOs do significantly better than every subaru based vehicle there with the exception of one, and it doesn't count cause its fully built..

I'm not even sure what my point is?? Honestly I wouldn't buy either, I'm very happy with my MS6 even if its slower, heavier, has less power. I can scream down the highway at 100mph, gets good mileage, almost totally silent, and cost over 10,000$ less to me than an EVO OR STi would've. go me, I guess.

if I didn't have the miata, I'd be in either an STI or an Evo...probably the evo.

Makes me miss home. I haven't boarded in forever. Let alone tear up brodies in the snow. Never had fun like that though, those guys are crazy.
Fixed the video so it works now.

Very nice video. Makes me want it to snow for real. When I finally break something in my OBS I'll try to find a WRX or STi drivetrain and do the swap. I love that boxer engine. Very rawwwwwwwww

I have a 98 Impreza RS with a complete 2002 WRX Engine, Tranny and Diff Swap along with a 3" Turbo back exhaust and a big top mount intercooler. I love the car, especially with the snow tires in the snow

Thinking about a cobb accessport ecu next.
