If you had the money, would you buy a 2016 Mazda2?

I was at the Montreal Auto Show today, and was surprised to find out about this:

Mazda2 North American debut

In person, it looks really sharp, even though no specs are released yet. I was also pleased to learn that Mazda is now pairing the 2.5L engine and six speed manual transmission on the Mazda3.

yes.

I'm considering the 3 hatch with a shooting brake look and 40mpg.

They look a lot better than the last Gen.

I have a 2012 Mazda2 so no I would not buy the new one. I will say my M2 has been awesome, much more fun to drive around then the fit or yaris.

Fail wheel drive and 4 doors. Shoot me first.

That sure looks like an improvement over a base model 1998 civic. I bet you don't have to reach over to unlock/roll down.

Yes, but for the wife.

No because it's not coming to the US anymore.

Otherwise yes.

It's not??

According to my Mazda district sales manager it's not.

If that bastard is pulling my chain I will kill him. But he's not the only one working for Mazda on the corporate side that said they're not coming here.

They want to sell CX3's. It seems Mazda has become as stupid as everyone else here except VW (let's not sell practical hatchbacks and wagons because if we don't sell them then our buyers will be forced to buy the higher profit/more expensive SUV's)

On a random side note yesterday morning when I filled up my Mazda2 it only cost me $12.38 in gas. In 12 years of driving I have never filled my tank up for that cheap. If they made a Mazda2 that got 45mpg I would be tempted to upgrade.

I was talking about the 2 with the sales manager at a local mazda dealership when I traded mine for a new 3 and they were eager to get the new models in. I would be really surprised if it doesn't come here.

Also, the mazda2 is a really fun car around town or in a city.

I'm aware. I was really upset when I was told it wasn't coming. We will see. I am still hoping there was a misunderstanding.
