The video clearly states that the guy explaining the technology is from Cargine? I never got the impression that Koenigsegg was taking credit for it.

I guess I just interpreted it differently. During the whole 2.5 minutes that Mr. Koenigsegg is describing the system, he never mentions the word Cargine. He introduces the video with "So now I am going to show you something which we are working on for the future, which I personally find very very interesting in many aspects." (my emphasis.) When he introduces Mr. Carlson, he simply describes him as having been "partly responsible for the development." I note on a re-watch that Mr. Carlson has the title "CEO of Cargine" superimposed for a moment, which I missed the first two times I watched it.


Ah, well. I don't want to harp on technicalities. Cool technology. Hopefully it will actually work as well as they claim.

I thought I remember him calling it the carlson free valve a bunch of times. but it chould have just been (sweedish mumble) free valve.

Primarily long term sealing issues. It's mostly used on 2-strokes to reduce "suck-back" for the exhaust.
