Installed motor mounts/Going to Atco tomorrow
 

after work today we installed my new mazda comp mounts my girl got me for my birthday, the old ones weren't torn or separating at all probably since there's only 44K miles on them but the new ones were about 1/4" taller than the old ones. Car feels much tighter in every aspect, best part is my downpipe doesn't hit the subframe anymore. So the reason we rushed these in there today is because my buddy finally finished his '70 chevelle big block and we're going to run tomorrow night at atco. i know this is kind of last minute but if anyone wants to meet up let me know.

sidenote: with my old motor mount i noticed they seemed to get even softer after everything got hot and i attributed this to drivers side turbo/downpipe heat. Has anyone made up some sort of heat shield for the motor mount?

they have street night on thursdays there? i know a bunch of us turbo guys in the mob are going on the 26th.

i don't have much for pics really, sorry i'll work on it, beside my b-day actually isn't till the 18th so don't worry joe, i'll be doing the mounting that day, maybe i'll get pics too:giggle:

paul i guess they do street nights on thursday my buddy who is big into the scene thinks so. maybe if i don't break anything i'll try to come back again for improvements, i know this won't go well this time

PS: My birthday is on the 18th too, but my girlfriend didn't buy them for me :(.

PS2: according to atco's schedule - "Thur Sept 11 430pm Muffled Street Cars Only ( NO MOTORCYCLES) " so looks good.

Tell your GF my b-day is the 16th and she can mail me my mounts whenever she wants :bigtu:

weird 1980 myself! after i got done i went for a 20-30 mile drive and i totally love them, strange to say but even my exhaust sounds better, handling is more predictable, there is a small amount of vibration at idle but since my car isn't exactly quiet or comfortable it's not an issue in the least, especially since it seems like half of my squeaks and rattles are gone now.

my girl has been my wife for almost 3 months now so even though she has a horrible spending habit and would probably enjoy sending you all motor mounts we'll be buying a house when the right one come along, so those mounts will have to wait or you could spend $100 and couple hours and enjoy them now:)

Steal the muffler off my car while its sitting in your driveway. All you need to do is take it from the sleeve back.

my friend's chevelle has the smallest mufflers i've ever seen, they don't do a thing, that car is probably as loud as 10 miatas with no exhausts. get the cheapest fart can you can clamp on the back

maybe i can tell them the resonator is a muffler

It may line up enough to work, not sure about the lengths though.

That plastic fitting on the turbo outlet is only hand tight.

never made it, some kind of accident had me sitting in traffic for an hour and a half, i'm so fucking pissed off i had to pull some strings to leave work early. I couldn't take it anymore i just turned around and came home. it's a terrible route for me to get to atco, right though some shit parts of the city. so no fun, no results, no way in fucking hell i'll be going back, i'd rather live my life not knowing what i/my car can do than ever deal with that bullshit again. sorry maybe i'll hit up some other track someday, maybe not.

i'm not really sure what the car will do, i never did get a chance to put my new tires on, so i'm still on really old t1r's, but i still have a bone stock suspension which squats a lot
