Insurance Scamming

my mother might become a victim of it. About 3 weeks ago my mother accidentally rear end a car full of "people." It was a very slow impact, under 3 mph. They were both stopped at a stop sign, mom thought she saw them go, let up from the brake and whack, hit em. So the police, a white police officer, shows up and records the scene. The officer noted there was no visible damage to either vehicle, and no air bag deployment. The 4 victims were all crying for an ambulance. Which they were all written off with nothing wrong.

Fast forward to today. Mother gets a call from State Farm, that she better come in, it is getting bad. The "people" she hit are claiming that there elderly grand mother that was in the back seat has a broken neck. And there 1 year old baby that was in the front seat has permanent brain damage. Also there Honda Accord for some reason now looks like it was rear ended by a large pick-up. I am talking totaled. The people are claiming that the white cop was racist and favored my mother thus not writing up the severity of the accident. They are seeking 1.5 mil for damages and doctors bills. State Farm is taking pictures of my moms Ford Focus. Because you know those 2002 Ford Focuses are built like a brick wall and will destroy anything in there path :vash:

The older I get the more I start to hate certain "people"

gotta love people. She'll be fine, get the officer on scene to cooperate.

so were they black, yellow, or brown?

That sucks man. I'm sure it'll work out for your mom. The insurance people know what to look out for and should figure it out pretty quickly. Sucks to even have to go through the hassle though.

Fucking scum man. They'll try and rob anyone to make it by without having to work.

When shit like this happens to me I now find comfort in the old phrase "what comes around, goes around". I'm a firm believer in Karma after my 43 years of life. They will get theirs in time.

Braineack 05-22-2009 05:47 PM

it's not murder if they are illegal.

kotomile 05-22-2009 05:50 PM

Was that around here?

Some people, I swear. Did they take any pictures at the scene?

yeah in Gonzales (20 miles south of ya). And no pictures, my mom doesn't carry a camera, and the cop didn't take pictures.

But you look at the front of the Focus from hell it has no damage, not even a paint scuff. The license plate is a little bent at best, didn't even break the plastic license plate frame.

Call the local State Attorney's office

I believe all assholes are pink.

Don't worry about it...insurance claim investigators will be staking those motherfuckers out and videotaping their every move to use in case this goes to court. This makes me want to hurry the hell up and get my video system up so I can record all of my driving. Would be handy to have in the event something like this happens.

pdexta 05-23-2009 01:16 AM

So pathetic. This is the kind of crap they need to throw the book at people for.

FRT_Fun 05-23-2009 01:38 AM

Well this is a bit more motivation to get my camera mounted in my car.

What is happening with this country, I swear why can't people just work for money like everyone use to 50 years ago.

r808 05-25-2009 07:23 PM

Wait a minute. If they actually went ahead and damaged their own car, what about granny's broken neck and the brain damaged baby? I hope they made that part up.

Splitime 05-25-2009 07:33 PM

Hopefully not... hopefully the went through with hurting gma and baby. Then maybe the baby is damaged enough to not breed.

It has come to my attention that my comment is racist and offends people. So let me rephrase it to be more PC:

So, since we've deduced from the OP they were not white Caucasian, was the "alleged" insurance scammer of African-American, Asian, or Hispanic descent, I'm curious?

If that offends you, or if it's racist, then you need to stab your eyes out, because when you see obvious physical differences between races, it's racist and offends me. I'm almost scared now to ask if they are legal citizens and had a valid drivers license, I might get mail bombed.

Insurance fraud sucks. I've sat on the back patio of the Taco Cabana at Shepherd and 610 to eat lunch and watched a car full of "people" roll through the underpass over 10 times in the outside of two turning lanes apparently waiting for someone to go wide from the inner lane.

One of the more fun times I've had calling the cops.

Saml01 05-26-2009 09:43 AM

They wont get a pay day, and if it does it wont be for 1.5 mil and it wont be in the next 10 years. Insurance company will drag this out till the end of time.

Someone mentioned a good point about the insurance company, they will stalk them forever.

I wouldnt worry.

I had a Vietnamese lady run a red light and broadside my benz. my beautiful, black benz. there was minor body damage to both vehicles. she didn't even break the plastic headlamps on her toyota. she tried to sue me for all sorts of shit, even hired some scum bag Vietnamese lawyer. my ins co told them to pound sand, never heard anything from it.

I'd be curious to know if your 'cans are illegal. Might be a good time to give your friendly, neighborhood ICE office a call. :)

Hell, I'd like to know if their car was even legal (inspected, registered and insured). I'm sure they would have gotten a ticket at the scene if not, but in Houston the illegals think they can use the road without paying registration (it's a fucking road tax people...can't pay...can't use), or having financial responsibility.

I've yet to hear about mexican scammers here as most try to stay under the radar, but have seen many accidents where uninsured illegals that shouldn't be on the road have injured or killed folks.
