I think I just decided for a Verizon Motorola Droid X as my next phone. I can get 22% off my bill thanks to the company I work for.

NA6C-Guy 02-13-2011 09:03 AM

No I didn't. I'm going in a little while to pick up a Samsung Captivate from AT&T, my current carrier. They have the best monthly cost for me, $65 for what I need.

iPhone. I currently have a Andriod but that shit is always crashing or freezing. My unlocked/jailbroken iPhone 3gs was the best IMHO.

Android on the droidx AMAZING!

The bottom line takeaway is do not buy a "low-end" android device. Basically if it does not have android 2.2 or better and at least a 1ghz snapdragon processor you are setting up for fail. Most of the people who complain about android are not complaining about the OS, but rather are complaining about the low-end hardware they are running it on (i.e. samsung moment, garmin phones , dell anything). Don't buy a 20k sports car and complain it does not perform like a 200k sports car.

I've had my iPhone 3GS for well over a year now. I love everything about it. It does everything I tell it to do the first time everytime. I live in south Florida where reception with AT&T isn't an issue. I just got my wife an evo with sprint and I'm a little disappointed, the 4g service doesn't seem any quicker, her phone has had problems sending emails and videos via mms since we got it. I'm not sure if it's the phone or the service but my iPhone never had that issue. I also find the iphone much much more user friendly. It's a mug more simple layout. Heck, my 4 year old can use it with his eyes closed. The android is definitely more complex. Just deleting aps you have to go through a series of screens. iPhone all you do is hold down on the ap and then press the X. That said. iPhone win, android, keep trying.

My gf just got her iPhone4 and I really don't like it anymore than my 3gs. The screen is a bit more crisp and clear, but the actual phone itself is a bit odd looking compared to mine.

Well as it stands now I'm going to try and do both markets. I haven't even researched anything regarding the Android market, but I'm fairly well caught up with the lesser one. Not to mention I already have all the developer software and license for the lesser one as well.

I'm surprised that the votes for Android were that much stronger than for iPhone. I didn't think it would be that far off.

I loved making my friends at work jealous of my phone (Samsung Captivate) today. They all have iPhones and comparing mine to theirs, they all want to upgrade away from the iPhone. My screen looks 100 times better than the 3GS, especially with videos and loads pages much faster.

AT&T only? Worthless.

What's the verizon equivalent?

THe screen on the iPhone did not get an upgrade until the 4, now it I comparable to the captivate. The captivate is a much better phone than the 3Gs, IMO. The 3G and 3Gs always felt cheap and plasticy to me compared to the first gen iPhone... I'm picking up a 4 today. If AT&T had an HTC android phone with a front camera I'd take it instead.

Why all the AT&T hate. I've never had an issue with them. Only down side being 2GB maximum data plan, but I won't use that much anyway. If you do you need to get off the phone and drive, or get back to doing your job.

Samsung Fascinate is the Verizon equivalent.

I had the 2gb plan @ $30 a month the first 6 months of owning the phone. In my mind I was using the phone quite a bit, but after reviewing my bills I wasn't even using enough to justify being in that data plan. I called and told them I was pissed that I was being charged an extra $15 a month when I wasn't using it. She tried to be a bitch and I told her I didnt give a fuck, I want some credit and my data plan switched.

I'd say that 90% of the time I'm on wifi when I use my phone, so I really cant see how and where someone could need 2gb worth of data away from wifi. Where are you and what the fuck are you doing to use that much?

My point exactly. I don't have enough time outside of the house to use the phone much, and when I do, I'm usually within range of a wifi hot spot. A lot of people must be sitting out in the woods using their phones.
