for those of you who haven't seen the inside of an engine that's never had it's oil changed :barf:

Is this the reason you did an engine swap? ;)

m2cupcar Mar 1, 2007 03:33 PM

No, mine (the one that's in there now) was a few stages prior- the oil in the head looked like grease. :D

magnamx-5 Mar 1, 2007 03:35 PM

ouch that is horrible who would do that,to such a beutiful motor.

cjernigan Mar 1, 2007 03:38 PM

Never seen anything like it, our diesel motors come out cleaner than that.

I think that photo illustrates the point that a "less than 40k mile JDM engine" doesn't hold much merit

Some people don't get it. A girl I used to work with used to lease cars for 36 months - that way she saved a lot of money because they never needed to be serviced before she turned them in. Ever. Wasn't her problem.

engine sluge ''whats holding you back''.

yea thats pretty nasty looking.

TwoScoopsofHooah Mar 2, 2007 12:23 AM

As a tech for Toyota our dealership has a "desludging machine" (with tons of dust on it) I don't think it would put a dent in that.....

getsidewaysd1 Mar 2, 2007 12:28 AM

WOW. Had to of been a females car.

VRTSid Mar 2, 2007 01:00 PM

so how much of that would engine flush/sea foam could get rid of?
that would be a really interesting test, get a motor that looked like that, run the flush and take another pic.

Yes- female owned- and maintained. :gay:
He used grease to clean it... but I can't remember what kind. ;)

I used to work with a guy that traded his F-150 in on a 1500... After a ~8mos os so of ownership the engine blew. He had the chevy towed back to the dealer. He then proceeded to tell the dealer what a POS the Chevy was compared to the Ford he had prior.

He had put ~15K miled on the Chevy...

His claim to the dealer as to WHY the Ford was superior...He could go 25K between oil changes w/ the ford and never had a problem...

I couldn't believe there a really people out there like that... Shortly after I moved out of N.H. and don't ever plan on returning...

My mother put 25K on her '89 volvo 240 before her first oil change (OEM was Quaker state back then)
