Isn't this Brains Mani?

eBay Motors: Mazda MX-5 Miata 1.6l intake manifold B6 1992 up MX5 (item 350154912285 end time Feb-16-09 21:29:54 PST)

Doesn't this look like his layout?

Wow, almost uncanny resemblance. Doing what they do best. Knock off the others.

m2cupcar 01-30-2009 09:11 AM

it's looks just like the one in this thread
https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t30951/

and this thread

So with all these threads about the mani, is someone gonna try it?

Look just how nice it is on Miata.!!!!! if you have any question or concern, please let's me know.

Yea, I'm not going to pay $500 to get kicked in the balls on this one.

gospeed81 01-30-2009 10:46 AM

I'll wait til it's $75 to try it.

This is a company that was producing the one for the 1.8 that was around for like one month on ebay. I would be more inclined wait about a month and see what the 1.6 one from BEGI looks like. The pics of my 1.6 IM made by BEGI should be around soon...here's the prelim shots:

I actually saw that in their shop yesterday.

All of their parts look 10X better in person.

They had about 6 iterations of the intake manifolds sitting around on the work benches. They definitely put some effort into getting things right.

I wouldn't for the price. You know it'll fail on the cast parting line.

And really that plenum is freaking huge! I'll have to go back to my calculation, but IIRC mine was already 2x the size of the motor (3.2L).

but then again, i bet it's better than stock :P

I was looking at the installed manifold pic on the rhd car thinking about all of the extra underhood space that must exist on the hotside without the steering linkage, the brake mc, and clutch mc on that side. There is probably some lurking trade-off I haven't yet considered.

Braineack 01-30-2009 11:32 AM

what also worries me is they are from Thailand, described as 92 and up, and installed pic is a 1.8L motor.
