My current motor was very poorly taken care of by it's original owner(s) and is on it's last legs already. If I destroy it I have no choice but to do a full rebuild. ;)

99 head plus 2.0L stroker kit would be the order of the day.

well if you turbo your motor and blow it i i just hope no engine bits find their way into you new turbo or take out anything else in it's course

Braineack 10-01-2006 07:39 PM

heck you dont even need to turbo it before you blow it. It just seems like a waste of time to turbo the system and then to blow it up purposefully. life we be easy to do it both at the same time.

Pitlab77 10-01-2006 09:24 PM

yeah you could do alot of damage to the turbine side of the turbo

ultimateforce 10-01-2006 10:26 PM

I've never blown a motor before, it sounds like something I should do before I die. :(

Braineack 10-02-2006 12:00 AM

it's not as fun as it sounds. unless you enjoy towing bills and being out of comission.

Newbsauce 10-02-2006 08:53 AM

Besides, theres alot of effort and tuning you put into your car after you turbo. Seems like a waste of alot of time to do that then blow it.

Braineack 10-02-2006 09:01 AM

plus when you break down in front of a car dealer with billowing clouds of white smoke, people tend to point and laugh. Or so I hear.

miatamania 10-02-2006 09:38 AM

lol, almost as bad as seeing the guy in a riced CRX stall at the line at your local drag strip....but not as bad.

Well, that's the thing. I want to try my hand at ECU tuning myself, so I am turning a motor I know is on it's way out already. I am not about to do my first street tune on a brand new motor.

I have a daily driver already faster than my Miata PLUS my Miata's been on jacks for about 2 months already. I am used to it. :ugh2:
