kick ass screw drivers

I picked these up on the cheap to supplement my aging craftsmen set. The hex head on these drivers kicks ass. Makes busting loose tight screws a piece of cake.

not a bad idea, i think i would end up stripping the heads with that amount of force

m2cupcar 09-29-2006 06:19 PM

actually it works the opposite- allows force directly down, keeping the tip in the screw head, and keeping the driver straight up and down, while allowing the other hand to twist. Used one last night to remove the screws on the rx diff housing.

I have ones with the hex head below the handle instead of on top. I like the top position like your's better. If you used a ratchet you could keep all the pressure down. It is an awsome addition to the tool box.

Sure...sometimes you need to...Like when you have to get that rusted countersunk screw out of the center of a brake rotor. I've used the impact screw drivers and they work pretty good.

Braineack 09-29-2006 08:31 PM

you almost have to use them to take the brass screws off honda rotors.

yep- IMO it's just another step in the evolution of screw removal

nice drivers.

ditto on the impact drive on the honda rotors.

Mach929 09-29-2006 11:47 PM

m2cupcar 09-30-2006 08:34 AM
